I'm liking Bulletstorm, Brink and Halo: Reach.
Bulletstorm: Returning to oldschool shooters with a twist, very cool.
Brink: Fast-paced shooter with some Parkour and stuff in, I think that the character customization os also pretty cool.
Halo: Reach: I see the Halo series as the bread and butter FPS for this generation, you move, you shoot, different ranks of enemy's and AI. Halo: Reach has a twist on that series also.
Is it just me? Or are FPS' actually getting pretty imaginitive now?

Graphically, it looks like Gears, which is bad because Gears is ugly.
Other than that, the guns look interesting at least, but the overall mechanics look like nothing we haven't seen before. Controls look like a hybrid of MW and Far Cry 2. I do like the little power thing that the videos show (the one that lets you lift enemies into the air) but we'll have to wait for release to see how it's utilized.
Overall, I think I'll take the Yahtzee approach on this one and assume it will be crap. I haven't seen anything that really suggests that it will be good, so I think that's the best tactic at this time. I am open, however, to it surprising me.

I'm tired of just shooting people down until they are all dead. Maybe someone should create a story for a FPS that can match with the top RPG game's stories! I don't know anything specific about the game's story but isn't one of the points of the game to have fun using different creative methods of killing enemies? That doesn't amuse me for long. I think the FPS genre needs a big change. Like many say that JRPGs need a big change to become likable again.Ninjamedic said:

Im not big on shooters in general, i pretty much stopped bothering with the genre at Quake3 times, but this one looks at least fun.
Shooters dont need boring slow paced realism and depressing colorscheme. This, while not revolutionary, brings the genre back to the golden times of mindless carnage and mayhem from what the vids show. Run aorund, blow things up, massacre enemies in various ways..beats all the "oh i so want to pretend im a real war simulators" for me. Just hoping that it will have a decent multiplayer that still uses all of the game possibilities.

Yeah, I'm still excited about it.
It won't save the genre, the others are far too successful to just be forgotten and to not be cloned.
Damn though, it looks amazing. I can't wait to play it.
