It could be interesting, if only to see the levels in which you see your best friend get horribly maimed by a booby trap, the one in which you get hooked on drugs, and the one in which you return to your country with PTSD and get spat on by hippies, before dieing of cancer due to Agent Orange.

Good times.

Back on topic, I would, but only if they made one in which they let you play the campaign in the perspective of both the Americans and the Vietcong.

No. I wouldn't like it. And I also don't think that Americans really still like the war that brought them so much shame. Poor bastards.

I don't see the creation of a game in which a war was lost, but that all depends on how it would be portrayed. I wouldn't mind the game, but it had better be done by Infinity Ward and not fucking Treyarch.

It sure would be nice with a Call of Duty: Vietnam but why not something from WW1. Yes, I know that this debate has reach a stalemate just like the whole war but didn't the attacks gain moveabality when the americans started pooring in around 1917?
More like the other way round. The germans broke though and the US arrived just in time to stop them. Most people wouldn't like WWI. Only fixed machine guns, few tanks, hardly any even semi-auto weapons. WWI would only feature in something like timesplitters.
On topic: Vietnam is not too recent. Tunnel rats just came out and it was set in vietnam. It's like saying Cod 4 couldn't be set in the present day.

No, we shouldn't. Vietnam was a mistake, and more or less a disaster. It could be interesting if played from the vietcongs perspective, but we don't need (and I sure as hell don't want) another "America is awsome" style abomination of history.
Very true, that's why I would really welcome a Vietnam CoD done properly, an honest Vietnam game. I think even the Vietnam vets would welcome honesty for once, if they would make a CoD Vietnam game they should make it in conjunction with veterans.

Thank you for the insight. I knew that the germans were on strong march in 1918 but my knowledge about the americans part are a little fuzzy.

Nah that war is stupid, just a bunch of americans attacking a country that has nothing to do with them and they had no reason to go there in the first place, then they lost. Wouldnt be fun to run around a jungle geting pwned by vietnamese then heroicly ending the game by losing -_-

I want a WW1 CoD!!!
lol, this

Wasn't America the bad guys in Nam? I can probably assume that from the severe lack of information that is taught to us about it.
From the vietnamese perspective yes. For everyone else they were merely doing the fighting for the bad guys (south vietnam).
Not just the Vietnamese perspective. Probably most of the world actually.
