Just thinking about this concept, seems interesting, a CoD 4 style adaptation to the Vietnam War using realistic foliage physics like Crysis. Good, bad? thoughts?

It could be interesting but honestly modern or real life war stories have always invoked a little boredom in me. Although if they played the:
"I was only nineteen."
Song as the soundtrack I think I'd like it a little.

Wasn't America the bad guys in Nam? I can probably assume that from the severe lack of information that is taught to us about it.

Nah, I'm good.

I personally think it'll feel the same as CoD 5 but with slightly more modern weapons and a more jungle-y setting.

I think Call Of Duty Vietnam will be kick ass. That is my favorite area of a war game to play. Battlefield Vietnam was amazing. Just the thing is in every Call Of Duty game you win. We lost this war so its going to be a pretty depressing game rofl.

Yes, but it would cause more controversy then the Columbine Massacre FPS.

I doubt having a game where you give everyone cancer and flames for breakfast, lunch and dinner will be very popular.

No, we shouldn't. Vietnam was a mistake, and more or less a disaster. It could be interesting if played from the vietcongs perspective, but we don't need (and I sure as hell don't want) another "America is awsome" style abomination of history.

From the vietnamese perspective yes. For everyone else they were merely doing the fighting for the bad guys (south vietnam).

It would depend, it would be quite interesting to fight in the tunnels and the like, but I don't think it would be well received in America, just because of the whole "pointless war" thing.
<color=white>This is speculation btw, I dunno how it would go down with the public over there or here actually

It might still be a sore point with some veterans. In 10-20 years maybe, but not right now.

It sure would be nice with a Call of Duty: Vietnam but why not something from WW1. Yes, I know that this debate has reach a stalemate just like the whole war but didn't the attacks gain moveabality when the americans started pooring in around 1917?

I believe that it would be interesting however it shouldn't be restricted to one side. If that happens than well... it'll be too controversial and biased. Also similar to what they did in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare with the nuclear strike have the player caught in a phosphorous attack.
