The French could just ride over on a huge troop train from the Chunnel and raid London, sack the city, and bang, it's over. Of course that would require the French to win a war.

Not to start a flame war, but Navy Seals are better than the SAS. The U.S. airforce is better than yours. The U.S. Army is of larger force and also better trained. I could go on and on but that just invites a flame war. They were not 'Country bumpkins'. You had the support of the vast French army who defeated us in a lot of battles, as they had you to bolster their numbers. When the last British troops surrendered, they surrendered to the French. Ever seen a street or town called 'Lafayette' something? You could quite easily invave any country on earth, its just winning that would be a problem. Especially against the UK.
There are only a small number of lcations that could be used as viable beacheads, frocing the enemy to concentrate their troops, reducing the effectiveness of superior numbers; the ones at the back make it impossible for the ones at the front to fall back. It also means that they cant bring their full firepower to bear making numbers more even.
In the words of Rommel, the first 24 hours are the most important. If you fail to secure a beachead after 24 hours you have pretty much failed.
The only Countries that really stand a chance in winning would be the US or China. Even then it would be so costly that the would begin to question the point. We could do massive damage to any invasion fleet with the RN and RAF and an airborne invasion is damn near suicidal.
The SAS would of course at the same time take out the respective countries governments and leading generals and could be used to cripple production or just level new york.
A better question i think is could America be conquered. When everyone has a gun, any army is going to have flatten every town and kill every last man woman and child to stop resistance. But then, ther isnt really anything worth invading America for. What have they got that we havent? Absolutely nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are forgetting to mention that the U.S. had so many more soldiers in WWII than the British did. Also, sure our army is retarded, because we have so many soldiers to spare we might as well just rush in. But with marines, paratroopers, etc. etc., we did no such thing. Band of Brothers and E-Z company is an excellent example of this. I think they even, yep, they did save about 150 British soldiers.

I won't even go into the Iraq war, that whole war was a mistake, and that line about the Iraq war and the line under it are so poorly worded I can't even understand them.

Friendly fire happens, it's part of war. When you are flying in a fucking plane, telling tanks apart might be a little challenging. It's not like you can radio in and ask them.

I was referring to the Japanese tactics during WWII. Even when they knew they would die, they would fight to the last man for their country, when Britain, US, Canada would all run away and try to regroup or what not.

Great Britain, or England, is an island, therefore its supplies could be easily cut-off, leading the population to eventually starve to death. Why can't it be invaded?

It's surrounded by water, which, to my knowledge, is a completely neutral force, meaning you're country is 360 degrees worth of invasion capability. Why can't it be invaded?

This is not WWII, we have more sophisticated weapons now, not to mention the use of drones, missiles, etc. etc. Why can't it be invaded?

I know the Navy Seals are pretty elite in their own right, but they can't compare to the SAS. The SAS is one of the most rigorously trained military organisations in the world, renowned for how professional it is (ever seen anything about the Iranian embassy siege?).

Also, everyone knows England can be invaded (so can every other country), the real question should've been if it could've been invaded successfully.

And whoever said "AIR STRIKES" should remember that you can't win everything with air strikes, otherwise we'd have left Afghanistan and Iraq years ago.
