Not to start a flame war, but Navy Seals are better than the SAS. The U.S. airforce is better than yours. The U.S. Army is of larger force and also better trained. I could go on and on but that just invites a flame war. Oh, and when I see British soldiers baynet charging companies of soldiers when they stand no chance of winning, like, say the Japanese did in WWII, then you can that you would die for your country. Oh, and in case you didn't know, we declared Victory in Iraq over 4 years ago.

Might wanna do your homework on that one, it takes far more to get into the SAS than it does to become a Navy Seal.

The UK could be invaded, if would just be very difficult. Trying to invade Canada (The second largest country in the world), would be suicidal, as you would freeze to death the same way the Nazis did.

you see zombie badger, we learned from those Nazis mistakes and if we wanted to invade,we'd come in with the right gear. oh yeah,we americans are stupid enough to come in with our tank tops and shorts on when going to war in canada. and, like russia, half of your huge country is uninhabitable. you, sir, are an idiot.

Why would you want to, it would be like wanting to get a disease, it's small and either gunna burn or drown sooner or later and is already infected with chavs and teenage pregnancy.

Btw I'm English and currently live here and I'm not saying that Britain is completely bad I mean I hear we have good tea.

Edit: I would fight and die for my Britain though so see you on the battlefield ;)

Yes, but that is because the U.S has many specialized forces. Instead of one over-arcing one, there are things such as seals for the navy, recon marines for marines, rangers and green berets for the army.. We deal in highly specialized soldiers for each branch, instead of general skilled soldiers who though, are highly trained.

If any country creates an army of ninjas, then yes, England is pretty much screwed.
Otherwise I'd say we'll be OK, as far as I know, have a pretty good army, airforce and navy, capable of holding their own against most countries.

Yep so our SAS can deal with any situation that presents itself, always be prepared just read the amount of stuff they have to do just to be considered for selection

Also not to be unfair to Americans but I feel that if the American army didn't have all there fancy technology then they'd be pretty average in terms of fighting ability compared to other countries armies, in terms of moral, training and fighting prowess ect. (like the Russians, Japanese, English ect, we've used some incrbidly stupid but brave tactics over the years.) of course with those armies attacking us we'd be pretty screwed.

Fair enough, the SAS has the most rigorous selection and training regime of all, each man is trained to operate individually or in a team in any enviroment anywhere in the world. Although the Seals have far more specialised branches, Either way, they are both badass.

England can definitely be taken over. Anybody with the least bit of common sense would know that if every country were to band together and invade, than England would be leveled. It doesn't matter how skilled the army is, they will fall due to sheer numbers if anything. It would most likely be an invasion lauched off the coast of Normandy probably, and of the millions upon millions of troops launched, there is no way that England would be able to stave them all off. If Scotland and Wales are against England, troops could easily be dropped there then invade England. There is no place on Earth that cannot be invaded, exception being the bottom of the ocean and below the crust. Yes, England has a skilled army, but that does not mean that they are able to stave off such sheer numbers of people. Yes, England would put up a helluva fight, but they would lose.

I would be of the opinion that the only places it would be impossible to conquer and occupy would be the USA, Russia and China. First off, these places have very powerful militaries. Secondly, they are vast countries with areas of extremely difficult terrain. And in the case of the US, massive patriotism and high civilian gun-ownership would make it a very unpleasant place for an occupying force.

Of these factors, the UK only has one in its favour - a powerful military. If you could defeat the regular British forces, the country could be conquered.

It's quite simple..in theory of course. a large percentage of supplies britain gets are imported, since the landmass is too small to provide for it's current population. so if a another country want to invade, they must defeat Britain's navy and set up a blockade (this can only happen if none of britain's allies intervene). This will starve the British into submission with very few or no land battles.

I rest my case.
True, but how can you invade yourself? Wait hang on...

...nope that really fucking hurt.

OT, it is certainly possible but would be difficult. Those who have successfully invaded us have forged our nation (particularly Saxons and the Normans), so as long as they were pleasant invaders, I wouldn't mind.
