Poll: Can We Please Just Stop with the Modern Warfare 2 Whining?

It seems everywhere I look, I see people whining about Modern Warfare 2. The dedicated servers and other missing features on the PC, the no-party-chat on 360, etc. Listen, I get that you're worked up. I get that maybe you don't agree with IW's decisions. And you know what? it's fully within your rights to not buy the game. But PLEASE, can we stop whining about all the missing features on comment threads and forums? We get that it pisses you off, but it's been getting on my nerves, especially when these people say stuff such as "Don't buy the game because I don't like that they did this so you shouldn't buy it." If you don't like it, it's your problem. However, I'm going to buy it, and I'm going to have a blast playing it. You can go and not play it, but you're deluding yourself if you think that you can get enough people to not buy this game to actually impact the amount this game is going to sell. But this could just be my crazy opinion, so what do you think?

I really could care less. I've been naturaly avoiding all MW2 threads ever since I first heard about the Boycott about Dedicated servers, I suggest you do the same.

Yeah because sitting there and taking it when developers and publishers completely fuck you over is a great idea. It obviously won't encourage them to do it more in the future.

OT: Eh, it doesn't bother me one way or another. If I see too many threads about a topic I'm no longer interested in, I don't read them. I do think IW has made a few bad decisions, but we'll see how it affects their sale rate. I wasn't going to get it anyways (I don't really play fps), so on that end it doesn't effect me.

People are whining because they're annoyed and it's a public forum so why the hell not. I would never buy the game anyway (I've got this thing about not buying sequels that are released too close to their originals - they always turn out bad and I've been burnt before) but to have a game released in this day and age without such basic features... it stinks of what Apple did with the iPhone...

I agree, but it's just the level of butthurt over this is outstanding. Also, almost everyone I've seen whining about the problems either don't have all the information (the game-chat-only people) or are so worked up that a reasonable discussion is impossible, or both. I'd at least be able to have an insightful, calm discussion, instead of "I'm canceling my preorder TODAY because they changed one thing and it has me pissed off, I think all of you should TOO because I am." The level of self-righteousness is just outstanding.

Chester: If we sucked up EVERYTHING bad that happened in the gaming world, then games would cost $80 and all consoles would have a $30-month online fee. There would be $5 DLC's to get each new weapon in the game, and games would be half as long as they are now.

Speaking up is a good thing, and it's our right. Companies need to see specifically how many customers they lose to something before they change their mind.

It also occurs to me that some people just don't mind because it's not something they're concerned about (like leaning). If somehow leaning incurs HATE in you, if leaning killed your parents and left you homeless, then you have a right to yell back when people are angry at its removal. Just remember; there ARE features in the game that you'd whine if they removed.

Then let them be. Arguing over PC version to Console version, or whiners to complainers is like wrestling with a pig in mud. The pig's just gonna' get angry, and your just gonna' get dirty.

Explain how my poll is one sided? I included options for all the different opinions I could think of, including one to state your other opinion, stated that maybe it was just me and I was getting worked up over nothing, and asked for other people's opinions. I'm trying to have a discussion, not a flame war.

Hell, I'm just tired of hearing about the game in general. I don't mind people whining about the game I put up with whining everyday and even whine about things myself but my philosophy says that things last twice as long if you keep complaining.

I agree completely. Yes MW2 isn't what you thought it was going to be; oh dear, the world is ending. STFU and either buy it or don't, but don't rant on forums trying to get others to boycott it with you should you choose that path.
