You can't please everybody. You can only please some of the people.

Someone will always whine and complain about things they don't like about a particular object or idea.
Please accept that this will always happen and there really isn't anything that can be done about it.

No more whining and no more threads about it would be nice. If you don't like it then complain to your friends not the rest of the world.

Whining doesn't work... *grabs out baseball bat* using this on the game developers will work though..... someone copy and paste my post to all the threads about MW2 not allowing dedicated servers

I've quiet happilly ignored the MW2 bitching up till now...and I will continue to do so well after I've bought the darn thing. I agree that this is a gaming forum and members have every right to whinge and ***** when they believe their favorite franchise has gone tits up.

I will say this though: It does appear to have gone a little overboard. Everytime I come on here I seem to find two or three threads denouncing Activision and Infinity Ward that list the problems over and over again. I even found a couple of posts calling those who wanted to buy it (i.e. me) idiots for doing so.

So can we maybe tone down the hatred or at least confine it to a couple of threads, and not say...all of them?

No, they just kicked a game series that I love between its legs. I won't forgive Infinity Ward for that.

Thank you. This is all I'm getting at. People have every right to complain, and I sympathize, I really do, but please. Keep it within reasonable topic counts.

I was never complaining about the complainers, although it might have seemed I was. They had a valid point, yes sometimes they used insubstantial evidence, but their point was still valid. However, back to the first thing I said: it's the sheer volume of it, that you can't read any comment thread or gaming forum without having it at least half filled with complaint topics.

Why complain? Bad Company 2 is on the way. I liked BC 1 more than COD4, (COD was still great though) so that will be the modern combat game that I buy this year.

As one of the people who didn't complain, No.
I wasn't going to buy MW2 anyway, and even I hated the things they did. The decisions made were retarded and people are annoyed. It happens.

...NIGHT VISION GOGGLES!

Because, in the end... what else matters?

Also, the $100 shiney piece of plastic that comes with the hardware might also be the most immersive, realistic, fast paced, single player FPS storyline I'll ever play, and might just let me shoot friend and strangers alike with a wide variety of modern day firearms, so it can't be all bad.

as long as people are yelling at them over the release date, nothings worse than a game that gets rushed and ends up crap or pretty much the same as the original(unless planned)

There's a difference between whining and discussion. I don't mind the discussion but I'm annoyed of the whining.

I like going into the threads and reading up on the differences between the server set up of PCs and how it will effect the game experience for PC users since I only play consoles I don't know much about the PC player situations but I don't like "IW are fucking idiots to downgrade it for consoletards" kind of things.

The former is good. The latter is bad.

It's fully within your rights to not buy the game.
It's fully within your rights not to read the threads.

This is one of the few times when the collosal level of whining is justified.

I had been in the "the PC gamers are being pathetic about all this MW2 stuff" camp until I realized how some of the changes are affecting all versions of the game. While MW2 is not high on my wish list, it's still disappointing to hear that they've cut the size of online matches and removed gameplay elements such as leaning for "balance" reasons, despite what I hear about the original being balanced and keeping those gameplay elements.

Exactly.

The 'if you're not happy don't buy it' argument is beyond retarded.

People have every right to be upset if something they were looking forward to gets ruined.

I honestly can't stand the hype, COD4 was the fantastic game it was because it came straight out of left field. After so many generic WW2 shooters, it was just so amazingly fresh. The nuke, AC-130 and the finale were unexpected and awesome.

But now we know what to expect, so yeah probably going to be of equal quality but criticized for not being better.

Whining is redundancy. Go find something that actually deserves whining.. like humanity, or Twilight (!!!).

If there was a petition to stop the whining, I would sign it. Just shut up already, we get it, your angry, big whoop.

I agree, but it's just the level of butthurt over this is outstanding. Also, almost everyone I've seen whining about the problems either don't have all the information (the game-chat-only people) or are so worked up that a reasonable discussion is impossible, or both. I'd at least be able to have an insightful, calm discussion, instead of "I'm canceling my preorder TODAY because they changed one thing and it has me pissed off, I think all of you should TOO because I am." The level of self-righteousness is just outstanding.
I have just come off a 2-hour session of COD4 on the 360.

Frustrating doesn't even come close.

I was never close to the host so I spent two hours getting killed before I even saw people, loading entire clips into faces only to watch killcams where I didn't fire a shot, and being magically teleported back out from behind cover and dying.

I also had to mute half the players in every server due to the abuse flying around.

PC gamers never had to deal with any of this.

Now they will.

That sucks for them and they have EVERY right to complain about it.
