Poll: Can We Please Just Stop with the Modern Warfare 2 Whining?

Something interesting I noticed. People seem to be overlooking my posts where I attempt to clarify that it's not that they don't have a valid point, but that it's just getting tiring by now, and just jumping straight into the flaming about why don't I just ignore it. An interesting point to make, especially here, given that you've given me the opportunity to say the exact same thing back to you.

And so the cycle begins.....

Well here's a vicious cirle.

The whiners whine about MW2 which in turn gets people whining about how the whiners just won't shut up which results in others whining about how people are whining about the whiners which will only lead to whiners whining about the whiners who whined about the whiners and so on and so forth until we forget what the problem was in the first place (we were talking about ice cream, right?).

The easiest way to stop the anti-whining whiners is for the first group of whiners (those who are vocally opposed to MW2) to not give said secondary whiners something to whine about (and I used the word 'whine' seventeen times in this post).

Yes, please stop whining. For once, I'd like the PC gamers to act like the tough boys they claim to be and just suck it up.

Doing that for a few years didn't do anything good for us, so we're gonna try whining for a while.

At least, everyone else is.

I couldn't possibly care less about MW2.

My thoughts exactly. If you don't like listening to people whine about MW2 then you can easily do the two following things that should solve your problem: A) stop going into threads about MW2 B) Stop reading articles about MW2 until it is out.

Of course, you could consider that the things they are removing are pretty important to some gamers. You could recognize that if your favorite games developer removed one of the key aspects of their games that you liked, you'd be angry too. Of course, that would require sympathizing with others on the internet, which we know no one is willing to do.

Then what is your problem? Just look for different threads. Better yet, make a good thread with some thought behind it and have a good conversation with the other escapist members.

Oh, and a thread about how other threads are annoying just seems to draw attention to the other threads, which could be counter productive for you in the long run.

The stuff that they did with MW2 (Dedicated servers, party chat) aren't a deal breaker. I'm sure everyone in God's kingdom is going to be playing the hell out of this game.

You could have gone into any MW2 thread and found numerous posts by people who are all saying they are sick of threads about MW2 bitching. This thread was entirely unnecessary and was not set up for real discussion to occur, which it didn't. That is all I'm saying.

Also, that the hypocrisy of whining about whining was kind of funny.

No, Imagine your favorite memory ever. Now imagine it being ripped from your body. Now i'm not a big fan IW but more and more devs will follow in their footsteps because of it's huge success. Taking dedicated servers is the worst thing anyone can do to a major franchise.

I'd just like to note, that your poll is extremely one sided and biased, and that often leads to a quick visit from the banhammer.

OT: Eh, it doesn't bother me one way or another. If I see too many threads about a topic I'm no longer interested in, I don't read them. I do think IW has made a few bad decisions, but we'll see how it affects their sale rate. I wasn't going to get it anyways (I don't really play fps), so on that end it doesn't effect me.

Explain how my poll is one sided? I included options for all the different opinions I could think of, including one to state your other opinion, stated that maybe it was just me and I was getting worked up over nothing, and asked for other people's opinions. I'm trying to have a discussion, not a flame war.

As I said in my edit, when I first loaded up your topic, the only options that showed up on the poll were the two yes options. I don't know if I just had a bad page load, or if you were in the middle of updating the poll when I saw it or what. After I finished posting I noted the poll had all the options, so I added the edit at the bottom of my post. Once again, sorry for that.

Easy to say, hard to follow up on. Now i'm assuming you are a console gamer because if you are PC gamer you WOULD have something wrong with IW choice. Think of PC gaming as a race. And dedicated servers are a major part of our culture. Then a bunch of rebels take over the country and take away your right to own property or something. Sorry, i r bad at analogies. And apparantly english too.
