Seriously, some of the Pokemon are incredibly rare. Even if they have it carefully planned out it's still likely that they would fail.

I guess it will be like the RockBand one with the 1000 songs. Only 500 pokermans to find and deal with. As others have said, they probably can't do it due to rarities.

Those tend to the the '+5' Pokemon, as including them would be unfair.

I don't believe they are going for those. And if they are, they could still trade using the cables (since that would be the only way to obtain them).

OT, if they want to succeed, they are going to need luck, and luck alone. Ciarang (5th post) said he took over 200 hours, but I managed to get them all in 114 awhile back. It's all based on chance, especially for the ones like snorlax.

Over 500 hours have I spend on Pokémon Gold, I'm sill missing 23 of the 251.

Pokémon like Dragonite and Tyranitar are a pain in the buttocks to get through evolutions, and if I'm not mistaking, the new series have replacements for them with the same difficulty to level them.
Add the ever so annoying ones that run from region to region...

Wait a second, there's a bunch of dudes playing! They're going to make it. Using 8 different games and most likely 8 different players, shame on them if they fail.
