A lot of people I know think Collector's Editions are a waste of money.

I however think it's nice to hav something special, especially when it's a game or series that I really like.

So, do you think Collectors/Limited/Special Editions are worth buying?

Bonus points if you tell the internet what games you have Collectors Editions of.

I couldn't list every game I have CE of... but to name a few!

Halo Wars
Fallout 3
Far Cry 2
Alien Vs Predator
Mass Effect 2
Halo 3
Halo: Reach
Metro 2033

But yeah I do love them. I love getting little extra stuff! Even if it's as simple as an artbook or art cards.

I think that if I buy a game that is truly rich in gameplay, story, and characters, it is worth spending a little extra on something to expand that world, like an artbook, of environments or character concepts. Posters are nice too. The most recent one I bought was Bioshock 2's. It was brilliant value for money; only £25! If it's a game from a series I like, spending more on a special edition is almost a certain with me!

If you like something that much, why not? I've never really been compelled to get one.

Did you buy it from Play? I jst bought it a few months ago, and it was insane value for money. The Art book and Vinyl should have been worth £25 by themselves.

I don't buy them because I enjoy playing games as a past-time. As such, I don't really feel the need to spend all that extra money on stuff I never use. However, I can certainly see how people would want those extra little display pieces.

Not really an exclusive, but I got a copy of Batman Arkham Asylum from HMV that came with a nice slipcase and Joker poster.

I have the collector's editions of Warhammer: Mark of Chaos and Age of Empires III from years ago. It's a shame because they were both games I never played much.

I've got the HL2 collectors edition and the Medieval 2: total war collectors edition. Seduced by the power of the big lambda biscuit tin and the prospect of little toy soldiers. Alas.

I don't pick up collectors editions anymore as my girlfriend who helps me not succumb to the desire to overspend gives me dirty looks whenever I look like I'm spending twice what I'd normally spend on a game just for the extra map. My budget for other stuff, however, has correspondingly bloomed.

No, it was from Blockbuster. Have you got a UV light? There are a few secrets in this edition, (although I don't know how many people know about it.) I agree with the quality; an artbook over 150 pages deserves that amount of money alone. Plus the vinyl, posters and beautiful hard-box.

I've only got one or two things in collector's editions, and I've never regretted doing. I can see why some people say it's a waste of money, but like a few people have already said, if you really like it, then why not?
I would even say, it's an excuse to give game developers more money and get some extra stuff out of it in the same time.

Ohh, fair enough.

Hmm, I don't sadly. Are these secrets in the manual or something?

I was asked if I wanted to buy the collector's edition of BioShock 2, and I almost would have if it didn't double the price.

I do actually have the collector's edition of Majora's Mask, and since it's my favorite game, that'll do for me.

The collectors edition of Bioshock 2 is only £25 now. It's definatley worth a buy, even if you already have the game, in my opinion it's one of the best collectors editions I've ever purchased.

I bought the Starcraft 2 Collector's straight away, and also bought the Modern Warfare 2 Veteran Edition because the statue of Soap is awesome and because it was marked down to £24.98 :D

I buy them every now and again, depends on what I get and what the price is. Currently hoping nobody buys the HALO Legendary so I can get one when it inevitably drops in price.

Why does it say poll if there's no poll? D:

I can appreciate Collector's Editions in some situations, I just pre-ordered New Vegas's Collectors Edition the other day.
