Organic? You're complaining about a PC interface not being organic compared to a console?williebaz said:My favorite genre is RTS. For most of my life I've been playing them on my P.C. However just recently I got "Halo Wars" and "Red Alert 3" for my xbox. Believe it or not I liked the console RTS controls better than the PC RTS controls. It felt way more organic to paint over the units to select them, instead of selecting them using click and drag. And the subtraction of the minimap didn't bother me at all. Not to mention that the graphics are waaay better on consoles. What do you think?

I am trying to imagine how horrible your computer must be. For it to be worse than a console, and you still play games on it.... I am just not feeling it.Not to mention that the graphics are waaay better on consoles.

"Excel spreadsheet style"?jamesworkshop said:The RTS can work on a console its just never been done, too do one properly requires a completly from the ground up mechanic, the point and click excel spreadsheet style of PC RTS is never going to work on a controller.
I have never seen a more disagreeable opinion in my entire life.williebaz said:My favorite genre is RTS. For most of my life I've been playing them on my P.C. This and Halo wars denied me of my usual stratage of making a ton of units while turtiling and send a hug wave to wipe out everything.Radeonx said:I disagree.
I prefer the controls on the PC, and it is much easier to micro manage on a key board.
By that logic, yes.williebaz said:I'm a troll?...
You could have spent the money used to buy an X360 and two games to upgrade a computer, or to buy a good portion of a new one. That's what, at least 300 bucks?williebaz said:Not everyone has enough money to spend on an expensive PC
I have to agree with you on that one. I haven't seen any games that have sold me on the ported genre.TaborMallory said:Console RTS games are the single worst offense to the RTS genre in the history of forever.

What on God's green earth do an Excel spreadsheet and Muta-Lurker herding in Starcraft have to do with each other?
Should Halo Wars control be called "model aircraft style" if a radio-controlled plane used a console-like controller?
Which he could've done if he had a hotkey for it. SNAP!Jekken6 said:TC, you should have activated your flame-shield.

Oh well, he can always controlled kite the flamers with a fast moving skirmish unit and then hit 2 to switch over to his long range units to take them out. Oh wait. SNAP AGAIN!
Someone has obviously never played world in conflict on max settings. And since when have graphics mattered in RTS's? Rise of nations is still the best RTS ever, and it looks like a shit on a stick compared to any new RTS you care to mentionwilliebaz said:Not to mention that the graphics are waaay better on consoles.
