I can cook, but I can't really make anything intresting up. I mean, last time I did cook, I cooked macaroni, grilled 2 sausages, chopped them upp and threw it all in a pan. Then, I threw stupid amounts of spice on it.

Noone else would eat it, but I enjoyed it.

Oh and I once managed to make a bread catch on fire upon insertion into the oven. How's that for great cooking?

Yeah, I can cook, my latest triumph being pains au chocolat, which I'd never attempted before, was very scared they'd fail, but they didn't, and now my flat mates are nudging me to make more. Irritating really, since it takes about 10 hours (including cooling at rising times), but worth it.

Also, I'll have none of that nonsense about students eating nothing but take-outs and beans on toast. I'm a student, and while I admittedly live with three others who can cook, I haven't eaten baked beans once so far, and take outs happen extremely rarely.

My favorite ingredient is garlic. Almost anything can be made taste better with some garlic.
I'm a big fan of Italian food and I use garlic whenever I can but some people can't stand it...the weirdos...

I'm not bad at cooking, I should really try to do a roast dinner from scratch at some point. Tonight's main course is salmon Tagliatelle in a white sauce and tomorrow it's beef stroganof...

I can cook some dishes, but nothing complex, just things like pasta sauces, pancakes (not the "just add milk" variety, of course), stir-fry, etc. It services my mum and I well enough.

Not really, never really bothered to learn anything more advanced than cooking an egg.

I can make corned beef hash, I can do bacon & sausage, I can make soup from scratch (I am proud of that one) and I can handle pasta.

I like cooking and I'm pretty good at it, obviously didn't take this after my father because when he does anything more advanced than cracking an egg and putting it on a hot frying pan that thing should be put in a biohazard bag...

I'm a good cook.

It seems that in the past 5 years I've developed a really good intuition for cooking.
I don't really follow any written recipes, but it's really easy if you have a good sense of what tastes good and what foods and flavours work well together. You should never be afraid to experiment.

I can make really nice roast dinners, shepard's pie, beef bourguignon, lasagne, casseroles, stir-fry, chilli, bolognese, fish, curry, soups...probably anything I put my mind to.

I find the most important part of a nice meal is the preparation, e.g for beef bourgignon marinading the meat for a couple of days beforehand, or for a roast, coating the vegetables in butter & herbs before roasting them and basting the meat in a tasty concoction.

Despite my delicious culinary creations in the kitchen, I couldn't ever be a chef.

Apart from the fact I can't tolerate hot environments ("If you can't stand the heat...") I couldn't cope with the pressure of having to cook lots of different meals for lots of people within a time limit.

Cooking for me is a hobby and I like to take my time cooking one delicious meal.

Yes. I may as well be a chef. I considered it as a career, but went with art instead. I love cooking though. It is fun and instantly rewarding.

I am definitely a hobby cook. I can follow any recipe under the sun and know how to change a recipe based on my own personal tastes. I.e. I can read a recipe know what it's gonna taste like and plan a slight difference. I've never really "invented" a dish. For me I like the process of following the recipe (with slight alterations) and producing a nice meal.

As for the effects my favourite cooking is spanish and italian. I especially love paella and rich marinated meats. I am currently falling in love with French cooking which I have only really recently tried. I have, however, been cooking since I was 17 (28 now,) so I do know my way around a kitchen.

I can kind of cook. Most of the time when I cook is because my lousy good for nothing mother is on the computer talking to her "boyfriend" who's in Fallushia New Jersy (for the past six hours I might add.) and my brothers need to eat so I just guess on how to make what she planed to make. Turns out ok I guess. Best I ever did was BBQ chicken.
