If BioWare games were about stories they told, then they just shown they have no desire in the care to make good stories anymore...
I'll admit, I don't know if that's the exact reason--or rather, if it's the only reason. They
can still do good work when they try; like MrBtongue points out, the entire Curing The Genophage bit was well done. (And I forgave the conveniently placed thresher maw because, hey, Reaper-Versus-Thresher Deathmatch. Awesome.)
But the end of a story five years in the making is the very worst time to fuck up, and if there was a bigger fuck-up possible, I can't think of it. Maybe they suddenly didn't care, maybe Casey Hudson and Mac Walters just had to show the world how incredibly goddamned clever they were, or maybe EA didn't give them enough time to do it right. Or maybe it was all of the above, or something else we don't know about. Whatever the reason, they completely blew it, and yet somehow we stupid Philistines are to blame for not comprehending the genius of their Flawless Artistic Vision.
So they've decided to pretend that simply adding another scoop of shit to our shit sundae will solve the problem, as long as they don't charge us for it. Um, no.

I still might buy their games, but I'm done supporting them on blind faith (pre-orders).
I guess I should've put it in the OP, but yeah, more or less this. I can't say for certain that I'll definitely avoid everything they do like the plague, but I'm pretty sure my days of pre-ordering collector's editions months in advance, sight unseen, are over. Hell, if I can't not get DA3, maybe I'll wait a while and then buy a used copy from Gamestop, just to spite EA.
