I laughed for a half hour before I could comment on this and I'm still crying from laughing so hard! Tell him why stop at his cousin? tell him he should get with his aunt too! Then when he's done he can get with his mom and his sister at the same time!
Okay might have gone too far there but so did he.
In all seriousness tell your hormone possessed friend to just keep yankin it until he finds someone he's not related to.

He rationalises it like so, "Well for one my Aunt, her mom, disowned my half of the family, I haven't seen her in five years, and even before that five year gap she and I have only seen each other twice." So in his mind, they are only "technically" related.
Let me cut you off right here. Why does it even matter?

I'm not talking about having kids, we've all read that can be troublesome due to genetic issues. But relationships... Who cares?

Give me one good reason that has nothing to do with "being politically correct". One reason.

They wanna roll with each other? More power to them. Just tell them to use protection because genetically deficient kids are not a fun thing at all, and all else is academical.

As somone else said, disowning their half of the family does not change blood.
There's a reason that incest laws are in place...

Um... No.
The point of the matter is you're DIRECTLY related, so it'd be completely wrong in my opinion.
Tell him to get the fuck over her, its not like he's gonna die if he doesnt get with her.

That is just wrong. Castrate him so he can't make retard babies with her. If I can stop at least 3 retards being born in my life, I can die happy.

He is into his cousin, like REALLY into his cousin, like wants a serious relationship with her
If he finds her attractive and wants to have sex with her then fine, as long as it's safe sex. But wanting to have a serious relationship implies that he might possibly want to marry her someday and settle down and have kids which just simply isn't possible nor ethical.

Statistically if one would have kids with there first cousin there no more likely to have genetic deformities/illnesses then any other couple...
You can't just say that and expect people to believe it, where's this statistical evidence you speak of?

What is he, brain dead!? SHE'S HIS F***ING BLOOD RELATIVE! It does NOT matter how 'disowned' she is, they are RELATED BY BLOOD. Dammit man, tell your friend to stop thinking with his f***ing little head before he goes and makes a real stupid mistake.

In other words;

No, just....

No.

It doesn't matter whether or not they've been disowned - blood is blood, and getting with your cousin will lead to problems with your children.

It's unfair on the kids.
honestly, not really, unless there's a strong tradition of inbreeding, a single inbreeding won't cause ridiculous mutations.

However, it is a serious taboo in our culture, and such a pairing will lead to an overall disgust at the couple.

However, if they really like eachother, and don't mind either living with a horrible taboo, or moving far away and hiding it, then more power to them. Doesn't hurt me any.

It is sorta gross though.

I can't really talk considering i fancied both of my cousins however i would never go out with them, although some problems did occur between me and one of them which almost put a spanner in the works but it was sorted out and the family is still connected.

To be honest, if the governmet consider it legal then it isn't all that bad. I guess its as the saying goes: "you can't help who you fall in love with".
hmm.... Well.... I cannot lie here - I was really young though but I did like my cousin (He never knew and still doesn't) but that was coz I got told u can like ya cousins in that way and stuff but when I grew up.... I thought ooh no this is seriously wrong.... whether their your cousins or not, t's like seeing another member of ya family.... I'm just gonna state this though :-

If u can like your cousins like that..... then why the hell isn't it the same with rest of the family members..(And when I sa that, I mean it's sick, completely)!! I mean come on guys.... I'm not trying to be funny here don't worry, but I think it is absolutely 100% wrong to have any feelings toward a family member (One thing though... it is hard when ya told at a young age and u have to try to throw any kinda feelings like that away)!!

I'm no statistician but that makes it seem more like it's safer to hit your cousin. Sure, it's even safer to go tap a stranger who is unrelated.

What I'm getting at is, what constitutes "first degree" relative?

Am I only the only one that thinks it's a little messed up that the best BS urban myth we have to stop people from banging their relatives is "your kids will fucked up"? Who gives a fuck about kids?
It's not an urban myth - just an exaggeration.
Inbreeding will lead to defects in the children, but really only over generations of it.

And I'm sure lots of people "give a fuck" about the kids. It's necessary for the world to have healthy children to keep everything working when they're older and all of us have died off.

Just because you're a bad person, doesn't mean everyone else is.

Then you should "technically" connect your foot with his balls when she comes around. Seriously, a good nut tap will eleviate most urges he has.

Genetically speaking though, your cousin is not that muuch differant then any random person, and I think second or third cousins are so genetically removed that it really wouldn't matter.

But it's his cousin dude, that's just wrong. How does she feel about it? And how would they feel about the whole family thinking they are wonky in the brain.

Unless that's how it goes in their family....then uh.... good for him?

Step? I recall a few years back seeing a step- couple getting married in the US, one would assume they consumate. I suspect that you meant "half" (shared blood parent), but I wanted to clarify.
