WTF! The Mayans were worried about making calenders so much that they all died because they forgot to eat and drink or acknowledge females so they all died on the day that December 21 2012 was done

Either that or 2012 could actually be like the year 3421 in which case, screw that; I plan to be long dead by 2010 at the ripe old age 16

Get up have an argument with a city council man.
Go to a pub with a rather eccentric friend.
Put a paper bag on head.
Remember where I placed my towel.
Don't panic.

That's how I see the end of the world.

At midnight the date will change to December 22nd, 2012. Nothing of major significance would have happened. Any other questions?

Its all complete and utter Arse Sewage. I mean how many other dooms day senariros have been around.
- The millenium bug was supposed to crash all computers but that never happened.
- LHC was apparently going to suck us into a balck hole but that never happened.
- Nuclear war was suposed to wipe us out but that never happened.

Is it me or do i see a pattern emerging. And anyway if something bad does happen the human race will survive somehow.

Al keida aren't terrorists, Tabloids and news reders are terrorists, promoting terror just so they can sell a big story and make lots of money out of it. Yet another reason why i so hate this decade, ever since the turn of the millenium its all been doom and gloom...

and yet, i think Morpheus put it right when he said "I remember that which matters most, WE ARE STILL HERE!"

I had to put maybe because from what i've seen i'm more inclined to go with the scientists and say that it's not the end of the world, it's just change. Some believe it is when the poles will fully invert causing massive climat change and natural disasters which would agree with what is happening now as a build up and that it will eventually settle down into a different world, due to a change in polarity lenghts of days and years will change which would account for why the calendar will end- they don't know what will change.

that theory was accepted by 60% of the scientists who were building it, the smartest scientists in the world. The problem was tha twe where testing mater we didn't understand and it would act in unpredictable and random ways. Plus Stephen Hawkings said we where fine, the black hole would destroy itself.

Well, as i see it, the world could end tomorrow.

So definitly a "Maybe"...but just because the world could also end on December 20, 2012, wich would be really funny because all the apocalypse believers would be really pissed if that happens.

DUH! how can nobody see what the truth of this is? Somebody finally releases the FPS where you play as cortes beating the hell out of the aztecs. Because it's so awesome, nobody does anything all day but play it. Hospitals, schools, supermarkets, everything is deserted. People even stop wanting to eat, knowing that maximising play time is their only goal left in life. Thus, everybody dies. Except that ***** who complained about mass effect on CNN. Or was it FOX news? Either way, that ***** doesn't play it. She gets confused and jumps into a meat grinder.

Perfect end to a pretty average planet XD

i love mexico and the mayan heritage, but like a lot of things i just see this as religious speculation(like the rapture). also there's a chance, after speaking with a mayan tour guide down there, that the mayans didn't even mean it would be the end of the world, just that a new age of man would learn and become wiser and peaceful.
