Honestly, I find that Black Ops failed terribly although i'm not sure why it's just how it's level up and buy instead of having either.I find the gameplay feels sort of scrappy.I'm not trying to sound evil but it says i could enable violence but yet i haven't seen very much of it mostly it's in Nazi Zombies (although like I said i'm not trying to be evil). But would you please post your opinion? Because to me it just failed.

Does it have the cool co-op mini-missions that MW2 had? If it does then it can rank at least a meh...

I haven't played it yet, but I don't intend to either. CoD's just getting worse to be honest.
On a side note, my brother is a huge CoD fan and said he hated it.

There is a difference between a game failing, and a game being bad.
Not failing doesn't mean it was good, and failing doesn't mean it was bad.
Commercially, Black Ops was a huge success, despite some people not liking it.
So no, Black Ops didn't fail.
And I didn't mind it, as some games go. I've spent more time on Minecraft, to be honest. Not a bad game, not a great game, somewhere in between, and not a failure.

Never played it, or the older CoD's so cant really tell...
What i can tell is that this thread has been done a million times before, with and without polls...

Cant we just all agree that BO was not as good as the older ones and that it was basicly just a remake with some bad stuff added and some good stuff removed, and then stop making these posts?
Its just silly imho...

Well I, for one, did not buy Black Ops because I bought MW2 only a year ago plus both expansion packs for a total of $90 (the map packs were $15 each right?). I did not feel comfortable spending another $60 on a new game even tho I'm the only one of my friends still playing MW2 haha.

Financially, Black Ops was one of, if not the biggest video game success to ever come out. Just a game is good or bad, doesn't mean it was a failure or not. Although I also think that a few million people might disagree that Black Ops was an entertainment failure. I know I enjoyed the game and while I don't play it much anymore these days, I would never call it a terrible game or a failure.

It's just I find that it is WAY to over rated all my friends tell me to buy Black Ops and it won't be a dissapointment but I borrow my dad's copy and I freak out because I can't ever afford any weapons.

Black Ops felt like what modern warfare 2 would have felt like if they finished it in a week.
To me it just felt like such a huge rush job poorly made clone.

The only reason I even considered getting MW2 is because it had the cool co-op missions but black ops really has nothing I mean I love zombies but nazi zombies is meh.

No, it didn't fail. Like, at all.
It smashed every record MW2 had.
And MW2 smashed most, if not all, of them, sales-wise.
Plus, I thought Black Ops had one of the best campaigns of the last year.
Nazi Zombies is still great fun and very thrilling.

Multiplayer is balanced, albeit one gun.
Hey, one SMG is better than 1/3rd of all weapons in MW2.
Not to mention MW2's killstreaks were mostly overpowered failiures.
Black Ops' KS rewards rock.

So no, in my opinion it did not fail at all. I love it, still do, it's better in every way I can think of than it's predecesors. Yes, even CoD4. So hate me.

Honestly, after playing the game I felt

It was meh all around to me. Using a popular(right?) franchise and cramming zombies in there as a gimmic doesn't make up for a bland story and go-here-and-shoot-that linearity. Don't get me wrong here, I don't hate the game, I just felt the game was missing that ZOMGWOWTHISROCKS factor. I did enjoy the boat level though :)

OT:
No, I heard it did pretty well sales wise.
[small]Then again, I also hear CoD fanboyz liek mudkipz.[/small]

I like it slightly more than mw2 - i mean even though mw2's gameplay is silky smooth I prefer the variety in black ops maps (both in layout and selection).

Ok when I say fail I do NOT mean financially because I am aware that it sold like McDonalds but I mean in gameplay and just how they made it I just find it lacks that slight 'CoD' feel i'm not sure why.

Personally, I think they succeeded in the campaign, and the zombie mode, but failed miserably in multiplayer. The lag is horrendous, the graphics suck, and there is still that problem of being killed by someone who spawns 3 feet behind you.

I don't know, I liked. Nazi Zombies is probably the best part, but the campaign is enjoyable and the multiplayer doesn't suck nearly as hard as MW2's, in that it's actually playable.

Nope, not really.

I enjoy the multiplayer about as much as I did back in the CoD 4 times.

And the singleplayer was pretty good. So was the zombies mode.

So, no. Although my opinion here doesn't really matter, I'm a fanboy, I have a feeling that even if they repackaged CoD 1 and changed the names of the characters, I would've loved it.
