I did buy it, and I don't regret buying it.
I wanted to see the end of the story. It's like the gaming equivalent of going to a Michael Bay summer popcorn movie. It only took me six hours to beat it on Veteran, but so what? If I went to see three two-hour long Michael Bay movies in a theater it would have cost me the same amount of money (assuming popcorn and drink for each). And that doesn't factor in the thirty or so hours I played multiplayer.
I didn't find the multiplayer to be anything particularly special, and it definitely wasn't my favorite multiplayer of the series, but it was still a good bit of mindless entertainment whenever I felt like I needed a break from other games.
So yeah, no regrets, even if it wasn't 'the bestest game evar!!!'.
