I bought it as a Christmas present, but I haven't bought it for myself. I might buy it in the near future but I'm not really interested at the moment.

I want to repeatedly stab the biceps of everyone who bought MW3, with a spongy toy knife, had they played any three 4-and-onwards CoD games before owning CoD 8.

What is the matter with 'chew?
Does it come with a damage-control for your attention span, where after so much it cannot possibly do any more harm?

Jokes aside, I don't care if you play it 24/7. Activision stopped getting my money after Black Ops and I'm content with not playing it. The CoD series just isn't fun for me to play any more: Campaign is the same old walk-forward-and-hold-shoot drizzle; spec-ops has hardly changed and neither has the multiplayer (if you think it has, try putting on your anti-smoke and mirrors' glasses).

While this still entertains some people, the appeal has completely worn off on me. I even get bored playing other games with this common-FPS, mundane shazz going for it; I only liked BF3's for its visuals and sound... though its multiplayer was and still is awesome, especially now, due to these promising patch notes [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/116003-DICE-Reveals-Massive-List-of-Upcoming-Battlefield-3-Changes].

-BRB gonna' go stab my brother in the biceps with that sponge toy knife I was on about... and in the cheek because he's owned all of the CoD's except 3.

Pray tell, why would you buy any Call of Duty game for the story when you can watch it on the internet and get the same experience, just without the hassle of being lied to about "control" and "your actions"?

And, likewise; why would you buy any Modern Warfare game for the multiplayer when Call of Duty 4 has superior multiplayer to all of them in terms of sheer scope, dedicated servers (at least on PC) and a relatively huge player base? If you're following CoD for multiplayer, you're paying $60 a year for a goddamn roster update. You're probably the kind of person who follows EA sports 'n shit.

So yeah, there's just no reason anymore to invest in a brand-new CoD title. Perhaps when the series pulls itself out of its own arse and decides to throw some genuine innovation, or at least something DIFFERENT, into the mix, then it'll be worth caring about. But noooope.

Also, zombies doesn't fucking count. If you want zombies buy the infinitely superior Left 4 Dead games. Hell, even Dead Island does zombies better than CoD ever will.

Tried the game when it was free to play, but i didn`t get the right "feel", if ya know what i mean. So i`m gonna pass. But I may get Black Ops sometime soon, i did enjoy the free to play weekend of that much more, but I`d like to see the price going down a bit.... i have no idea when that would happen... oh well, we`ll live and see.

Nope, and I've never bought a CoD game before.
It's not that I hate the series, military FPSes, or FPSes in general really, just ain't my cup o' tea.

I've got Battlefield 3.

Why would I want to downgrade to MW3??

I'll probably buy it when it drops in retail to like $30 or something for the campaign, but I'm not going to really mess around with the multiplayer any. When you've played giant open battlefield-style combat with jets, jeeps, tanks, weapon emplacements, mines, anti-armor/Anti-air missile launchers, suppression effects, FAIR kill-assist bonuses [shooting a person nine times and someone gets that last shot doesn't get you only 20 points, it gives you 90% of the kill, AS IT SHOULD BE], bullet drop/travel time, and the myriad other features involving, the Modern Warfare series of gaming is a joke for its multiplayer.

I almost considered buying it second hand a couple days ago... then I heard about K-zone 3 going F2P and remembered I still only have 40 hours logged in Skyrim (I can at-least double that by the end of March)
Sooo... yeah... not for at least 2 more months, and by then everyone'll be all over Blops 2 or whatever, so I'll find it dirt cheap.

I did not buy it since I thought it was pretty much MW2 but with a bit different skin and some updated weapons and maps.

I didn't buy it - not because I have particularly strong feelings about Activision or I think BF3 is better or anything, but simply because FPS games don't really interest me much.

I'm not about to buy some First Person Deranged Paranoid Power Fantasy for Right Wing Shut-Ins Who Would Blow Their Own Nuts Off With a Real Gun and Probably Already Have Done, Shooter. I don't have an ego issue, and don't need a game to tell me I can click a button and watch people rage, so why would I?

To put it bluntly, the majority (MAJORITY, there are always exceptions) of CoDs fans are the same jocks that buy the new Madden titles when they come out. These jocks used to pick on us nerds for being gamers, and now they dare attempt to call themselves hardcore gamers? Yeah, right.

Don't even get me started about the pathetic community that is multiplayer...

I took an advice from a comic at nerfnow. insted of buying the game, i decided to watch someone on youtube play the entire game from start to finish, with the cutscenes on, and with no commentary.

got to say i had more fun watching it and mocking out all the plot points that didn't make sense (and many lame deaths from part of the player) than i would had if i spend 60 dollars for it.

so,as i could see by watching the entire game from start to finish in my computer, and when bored pretended to be playing by moving the mouse around. I feel like i did the right choice by not buying this game.

well if you are on PC or Mac may as well buy killing floor. Like Left 4 Dead but a little more polish.

I bought CoD4 and thought it was great and innovative. I bought MW2 and thought it was a nice little rehash in the single player department but a broken steaming turd multiplayer wise. I bought Blops and thought "Same game, slightly different setting."

I didn't buy MW3 because even the trailers bored me by that point.

Played a few rounds on my brother's computer, enjoyed it but didn't see it as different enough from the other FPS's to buy it. Blackops and CoD4 are still fun.

That and from what I could tell they kept some of the MW2 features I disliked.

Let me put it this way: I just tried the first Modern Warfare the other day because I thought it was supposed to be reasonably good. It's so bad I can't think of any reason to finish it.

Seriously, it's far worse than I expected. I thought it'd be something like the best parts of Rainbow Six 3 and Ghost Recon combined, but it's actually the WORST parts of Rainbow Six 3 and the first Medal of Honor with a bit of extra terrible thrown in.

I wish I could have my 15 bucks back, then maybe I could buy Eufloria without feeling like I overpaid.

I bought it.

I regret buying it.

I know that many people say this, but this actually is going to be my final foray into this series for at least several games. I felt cheated with MW2, but this game was the final straw.

Shame, too, because Black Ops 2 probably WILL be a half-worth-it game. Ah well, maybe I'll buy it used, but I know that Activision does not deserve $60 for MW3 or Black Ops2.

I bought MW3, I have Elite, and have greatly enjoyed it and will continue to greatly enjoy the game until either my friends who play it stop or CoD9 comes out, in which case we all migrate to that one and enjoy that one greatly.

It's always fun to come into these threads to look at all the people trashing the game (although there's much less of that here than usual, which is strange):

Yes, "It's just like every Call of Duty game EVAR!!!" argument; it's just like every other game. Just like every Final Fantasy is the same, every Mass Effect is the same, every "_____ game" is the same as "______ game 2".

Yes, "Only sheep buy these games!!!" argument; we're all living in a corporate driven trance while you run around with your special glasses (See They Live if you don't get the joke).

Yes, "It's Shit" argument; your argument was so compelling that I went and burned all of my Call of Duty stuff so that I'm never tempted by that shit again.

I got the first Modern Warfare around a year after it was released.

So why would I buy the same game in a different package?
