Poll: Did you play the No Russian mission on MW2???

I just played this mission and I can sort of see what the controversy is about, but IW did give me the option to skip so no quarrel there.
What are your opinions on this mission-is it necessary, enjoy/hate it etc.

I then went out and bombed a puppy orphanage and kicked a paraplegic kid off his wheelchair, because gaming clearly affects how I behave in the real world.

Ehhh... I'm not going to. Thanks to Russian censors it will be cut out of the game completely. Not only that, but it will delay the game by another two weeks.
Fucking awesome. I'm missing out on one of the most athmospheric moments in gaming history (I watched the gameplay videos, it was great).

I played it as well, and it was very brutal and a bit disturbing. Especially with the pooling blood and open-eyed stares of the dead bodies all over the place.

Haven't got the game. Probably won't play it when I do get it because it's sole purpose is to generate controversy.

If it was there to help make a plot point, a cut-scene would have sufficed. The fact you were given the option to not play it just fucking SCREAMS "look at us! we're being controversial!".
They could have made their point and have the plot move along in dozens of ways that didn't involve a CIA agent gunning down civilians and cops, yet they CHOSE to put it there obviously for media attention.

Well I'm not gonna bite. Doing something controversial to generate media attention is childish and pathetic. The game might be great, but fuck, there really wasn't much point in such a mission other then to spur a media frenzy.

First playthrough I didn't shoot any civilians, just the coppers. Second playthrough I thought: "What the hell..." and just shot anything that moved.

Personally I was annoyed that it limited your movement speed. I wanted to run and gun dang it!
That said that was the last mission I played as the sweet sweet call of MP beckoned.
