I used to have very serious OCD problem wif hygiene, so I get it. As odd as this is going to sound, part of staying recovered is to be considerably less hygienic than normal, as it doesn't take alot to slip back into old patterns and I will find myself having 6 showers and 2 baths a day. Once you start being a little less hygienic, you realise that the whole thing is bullshit. Yes ofc, if you don't shower you will smell, and you don't want that. But the truth is that western society as developed an very unhealthy obsession with hygiene, which serves not only to weaken our immune systems, but also potentially breed super bugs. Furthermore, I know a history Phd that informs me that there is reasonable evidence to link an social obsession with hygiene, to a societies immanent decline. Food for thought I guess
