It's not my favorite game (it has TONS of issues), but I must like it because I played it for six hours yesterday.
most of the fan sites and wikis are male run.
And theres a hell of alot of fallout related threads on these forums by obvious men.

15 year old male still playing to see if i missed anything. Recently found t51b under Fort Bannister. If it helps i dont know anyone personally who likes or even understands fallout.
I was understanding that a lot of people that played fallout 3 liked it regardless of gender...I love the game, but I know guys that could talk circles around me concerning the history, lore, and overarching story concerning it. And as has been pointed out, most of the wiki's and info sites concerning the game were created and are run by men. No offense, but I really don't understand where you would get the idea that boys don't like the game.
This is a classic case of "Your friends have their own taste and opinion." Just because your friends don't play or do something doesn't mean the other 3 billion people on the planet doesn't either. Seriously, if they don't like the game, fine; however, I think you are taking it a bit too far.
These 'Do girls/boys like this?' threads are pointless. The only thing all girls have in common is that they have a vagina. The only thing all boys have in common is the penis. Now gaming preferences are, contrary to popular beliefs, not related to the genitals. It's down to personal taste and interests.

That game and my dick are perfectly in sync. So yes dudes do like that game, because being a naked behemoth fist-fighter is a universally loved time waster.
I'm male and loved fallout 3. I also know several other men who enjoyed fallout 3.
