Poll: Do people actually like kissing?

Recently I've gotten into a discussion with a female friend about kissing. She says that neither her nor any female she's known has actually liked kissing, and says they only do it because guys like it. This has lead me to wonder if any girls at all like kissing, or if this is just a unique case.

For a discussion:
Have you seen the phenomenon of large amounts of people not liking kissing before, what types of people were they, and do you know why they might not have liked it?

My friend and the people she knew are all teenagers, so it might have something to do with maturity and experience or they could just be of the opinion that it just isn't appealing.

I, of course, happen to like kissing. That's why I'm having a hard time understanding why such a large group of people wouldn't like it.

Edit: It seems the general consensus is, the simplest answer, that they don't like kissing because everyone they kiss isn't too good or experienced at it because of their age. It seems Occam's Razor has stuck again. I'd like to thank everyone for helping me figure this out.

I didn't like it with my first or second boyfriend but I like it with my current one. Perhaps your friends just had the misfortune of only getting with crappy kissers. Then again my first two relationships were shitty high school "romances" which I ended pretty quickly, so maybe it has something to do with how much you actually like the person you're kissing.

By the way, when you ask awkward questions it's usually good practice to state your own opinion on the matter.

It never crossed my mind if they even liked to kiss. I may ask a few of my buddies for their opinion on the matter.
Personally, I don't like kissing. I'm not a romantic guy.

I don't think I've ever met anyone who doesn't like kissing, or at least if I have it never came up in conversation. I'd say yours is just an unusual exception.

I prefer kissing someone I know and like, but have been known to kiss strangers on occasion to a slightly diminished but still enjoyable effect. I've also been known to, despite being a straight guy, kiss guys on very rare occasions. Banter, innit.

That's probably the case, but I want to see if there are any other possible reasons.

The theory goes that it's supposed to boost our immune systems by swapping whatever is living inside our mouths, so I guess there's some sort of biological feel-good factor for it? I've never really cared about the mechanics of it.

I've never really met anyone who said they don't like kissing but then again, I've never really talked about it with my friends. Our stories of encounters with strangers in the night tend to focus on details other than kissing.

It is not a female thing, it's a 'need more practice' thing, no one likes kissing a washing-machine.

Your female friends probably don't like it probably because they've never been with a guy who knows how to kiss. Seems to be one of those skills men have a hard time mastering on their own and feel too shy or proud to ask for help.

I had a bad experience with a girl at a party who was bulimic, smoked like a chimney, and drank a lot of Bailey's. Not a good combination.

There is. I think it releases dopamine, like seemingly every other fucking activity these days. Could be another chemical.

In any case a kiss can give you a mini natural high. Yay!

OP- Thats just bizzarre. I'm a lady, I like to kiss. All my lady friends seem to as well.
I'm guessing her or her bloke are going wrong somewhere.
(Plus, um... guys aren't generally the ones preoccupied with kissing- pardon my generalising, but I know a few guys who would skip that altogether).

Thats strange because in my experience, it is usually the girls that love kissing and the guys that would prefer to skip that part and jump into the sex.

I do know however that 'most' girls hate giving blowjobs, even if they say they like it.
