I am the only person in my entire social life who has played a game other than Rock Band. I am never understood.

Not many understand my sense of humour. Especially where I work.

They're not like, sick jokes or anything like that. Me and my friend, who luckily got the same job as me in the same building, say things acting like we mean it and then laugh about it.

Admittedly, their reaction to whenever we say "This is why we can't have nice things", is hilarious.
That is me and my friends right there! We act the exact same way. Except it's more strange because we through in inside jokes.

Just some of our inside jokes: Rebar, Rape Toad, Rawrybear, Brutus, and many that will mentaly scar you.

This is a trend I've noticed here: a lot of people have talked about how their friends and family just don't understand their sense of humor. This happens all the time to me, so I want to know if it happens to you.
I wish more people would find the funny in my Dark Humor, but then again I think it just adds to my charm ;)
Nothing says funny like being the one dude who would probably laugh maniacally as the world burned....

Oh my god man, me and my friend pissed ourselves laughing when another guy at the office, who shares the same humour, showed us a video along the lines of "Rape Toad".

Only nerd jokes.

For example:

Teacher: Now, in the French and Indian War, who'd you side with, the French or the British.
Me: British, because the French would surrender.

Only my friends got it.

They do, as long as it is within their moral borders. If it's not, some are eager to let me know it's not "ok". After making some comparisons using some logic it usually shut´s em up and puts em into some deep thinking though... or maybe they just fantasize about strangling me. :)

"My mom thinks I'm funny" Actually it seems my mother, and a couple of my friends, actually get my sense of humour. I once, unknowingly, made a co-worker upset because I got, fake, angry when she asked me to do a "massive massive favour" and hand her a bottle from the next room. It was a tiny trivial thing, and she asked me like she wanted me to go to her house and do her laundry. I had to apologise and say it was all a joke. Then again she gets worked up over practically everything.

As a general matter, people do pretty well with my humor, which relies heavily on sarcasm, 80s pop culture references, wordplay, and insult humor directed at corporations and government.

I also tend to rely on volume - as once person once said of me, "if you miss one of his jokes, just wait around. The next one will be there in a couple of minutes."

People usually get it but I don't think I'm particularly funny. Not in face-to-face conversation anyway, I do a bit better when I talk to my friends on-line. Not sure why, probably because I have time to better articulate what I was thinking in the first place.

Most of the time people do. Sometimes I might throw in a witty remark to something that was just said that people didn't catch or get the link to (I guess these things sound more obvious in your head) and then I don't bother explaining the joke, but then that person demands to know, and you just mess around with them for a bit but not tell them... Yeah I get that.

Things I'm bad at:

[li]Sarcasm[/li]
[li]Recounting a funny story[/li]
[li]Telling actual jokes[/li]

Things I'm good at:

[li]Witty commentary[/li]
[li](The occasional) pun(s)[/li]

Most of the time I just lose what I'm saying to unclear speech...

One major rule I find is that people find a joke far funnier when they work it out entirely by themselves. If you give them any hints at what you're implying, they'll just look disapproving and wander off... or something.

my friends do, less intelligent people don't get quite a lot of it, and then my family really doesn't. Why do I keep trying with them?
