The good thing about working in an office full of geeks is that everybody gets my humor; even the embittered, cynical, and jaded moments of it.

I wish more people would find the funny in my Dark Humor, but then again I think it just adds to my charm ;)
Nothing says funny like being the one dude who would probably laugh maniacally as the world burned....
Tbh i think it's a good think that not to many people get dark humor, having come to terms with our darker selfs the world would be much more peaceful and boring

*Shivers* Oooh that is a scary thought o_O

Well said good sir!

Well, you have to *know* the kind of humor that is appropriate in a situation.
(I think this was appropriate... well, okay, not that funny. Just a reference, with no cookie waiting. So it goes.)

When I do jokes with nerd contents, no, usually don't (despite not being that much of a nerd, I'm still the nerdiest person I know). When I go for black humor, sometimes, but they laugh most of the times anyway.

No, just about everyone thinks I'm crazy. Like today, in Latin, we had just learned the word "volo," which in latin, the v is proncounced like a w, so it is pronounced like "wallow." So I turn to my friend Will and say to him "Wallow in tears for your dead mother." He just stared back at me questioningly.

my problem is that I have to have two separate attitudes when it comes to joking. around my friends its okay to use gaming jokes and tabletop jokes (like using khorne's method, which is kill everything). but when I'm around my work colleagues I have to use common jokes and sarcasm has to be limited somewhat as ive tried using sarcasm a couple of times where they just don't get it.

and my humour is generally okay, but I get certain moments where I can tell a perfect joke at the right time and it cracks people up.

Most of my friends have the same sarcastic, self-referential, absurdity laced sense of humor that I do. It can get bad enough that when I talk to certain people on the phone I have to make sure that there is nobody within earshot or risk some very weird looks. Hearing only one side of the conversation while out of the loop can be very dangerous to your mental health...

I think I am lucky, people generally seem to think I am funny. I laugh a lot as well so it sort of goes both ways :D

I don't claim to be the funniest guy in the world, but I can get a lot of laughs out of my friends and family

having said that, they get laughs out of me

Also, sometimes when a joke dosen't work I have the awkward social defense mechanism of desperately clinging onto it in the hope of MAKING it funny. It never works

for the most part i am the funny one around my friends, i do alot of my jokes and "funnies" through face/hand actions and different voices though so most of my humor applies to alot of different people, i've met maybe two people before who i can think of off the top of my head that i never understood or couldn't get a laugh out of them.

not trying to brag here..but we had this one coach in high school with the super emotionless face who never laughs or cracks a joke or even fucking grins, and it took me 3 fucking years but i got him to laugh out loud and fall over after practice one time, and his laugh is the most loudest raunchiest thing i have ever heard, it was scary, shocking, and hilarious all at the same time. and of course i did a fist pump after that.

Well, some of my humor might go over their heads, but then it's usually because one needs to know a specific reference or meme that most people won't know about. And then there's those time where it's only funny to me, in my own mind.

But I can make jokes that people get, don't get me wrong. It's just that I have to be somewhat 'picky' about which jokes I tell and which I don't. And some people find it hard to pick up on my sarcasm for whatever reason. I guess I have a trust-inducing face.

I use two types of humour, the one no-one gets, and messes with their heads, and the the joke that is funny during the situation.
