Me, I am indifferent about the whole thing, I like to read books about it because it's interesting to hear the stories. Yet I am not convinced enough to go out on a grassy knoll with a telescope and a sign that says "Take me with you".

So once again, do you believe in Aliens/UFOs?

I dont believe that ufos and aliens appear all over the world like the tabloids and some tv series try to tell us, but I sure do believe that there could be some "non-human things" living somewhere out there-so I answered with "yes".

I believe that there are objects in the sky that have, as yet, not been identified. On the other hand, I seriously doubt it's aliens.

Life on another planet? Most definately. However, if we're talking bacteria or actual intelligent life is another question.

But since the question is wether or not I belive in UFO's that enter the earths atmosphere, posing to crazies for 20 seconds, then leave as quickly as they came, not so much.

And exactly as photog212 said, I'll belive they exist when they have an Alien Blaster to my head. And should they be "intelligent", Alien Blaster to a certain other persons head.

Well, I always looked at it from a human perspective. If we found a rich new planet thriving with life, what would we do? I'm pretty sure we would kill them all.

Yes, you can see how low my hopes for humanity are.

The question in the poll is inconsistent with the question in the title. I do think it is very well possible that there is life on other planets, although it's highly improbable that it could be called intelligent. However, I don't believe in flying saucers with little green man visiting earth. There has never been any conclusive evidence for that and every time someone sees an UFO there are tons of much more likely explanations for what it is than alien spacecraft.

Also, isn't it strange that UFO spottings and alien abductions only take place in countries where the gray man are an important part of pop culture? Alien abductions, for example, can very well be explained by sleep paralysis: a state in which you are basically half asleep and half awake, can't move and feel a pressure on your chest. Sometimes this is accompanied with a hallucination of, in Western countries, vampires, ghosts or aliens that will abduct you. In Japan however they often see these scary pale girls with long black hair you often see in Japanese horror movies, and in other cultures it's some kind of demon or witch.

And, am I the only one on the Escapist who cringes every time I read the word religion?

I do cringe everytime I see a relgion/idea used towards the negativity and ignorance of the people. Like I hate to start a flame war, but catholicsm on the whole, cept today they are alot more forgiving, which makes me want to join all the more.

But religion is good, it teaches us moral, ideas, life lessons.

Think of a world without religon, I think of Rapture, no morals are will have you jump into great leaps of science of study, however we need morals to give us a second thought.

More people in Rapture should have practiced faith, did anyone notice the cargo of bibles, that I take it was counted as illegal in Rapture.(correct me if i am wrong)

But if they are anything like us, they will see one error in our ways which will disturb them, something small and petty or either try to convert us, or try to kill us. However I feel like we will/cannot make peace with other aliens in our current thought train as a whole, unless they already had a beaurcracy etc. like in Mass Effect.

Valid agrument, but im off-topic thanks for putting up with me. Religon helps harbor morals sent in 1 way or another, for good or for ill. How did we get off topic that bad, damn im horrible.
