UFO: Unidentified Flying Objects.

So yes, I believe that untitled aircraft exist.
Yeah, we see UFOs in the classroom every day... some don't even get identified! o0

Believing in UFOs =\= Believing in life on other planets.

I believe in life on other planets... but i PRAY that we have been visited by UFOs.
If the UFO phenom REALLY IS alien SPACECRAFT... that means interstellar FTL travel is possible, and we won't be trapped on this miserable rock with the christians, muslims, and jews fighting over every miserable square inch.

The poll question and the thread title are completely unrelated. Because I believe that there may be life on other planets, does not mean that I automatically believe they fly around in spaceships. I hypothesise that perhaps they are far more primitive (or advanced) for that sort of technology, if that is indeed the nature of their reality.

I believe in Aliens, And if they have spacecrafts so I believe in those too.
The question was not whether or not they've been to earth, Merely if they exist.
The universe is just too big to have only one planet with life on it.

But we'll probably never meet those freaky aliens for the next billion years or so.
And we won't survive for billion years.. So.. They will probably never meet us as well.

But... I can't say that I believe in UFOs. Or at least not the "conventional" way. Because the whole idea of green peoples beaming someone aboard to stick something in their ass and then put them back home is just retarded. If they wanted to do some serious research, they'd probably do more then stick an electronic dildo in their arse. So that means that the UFO's we keep hearing about either don't exist or a bunch of jokers.
Pfft, Like you understand the aliens advanced ass-probing devices.
How would you know? Maybe that device helps them study the base of human anatomy, And it probably helps them understand how we deal with pain.
Not that I've tried, Not that there's anything wrong that.
Again, Haven't tried.

Not sure, but if anyone here has seen Fire in the Sky its pretty creepy.. its a documentary of some guys who saw their friend got abducted and he showed up a week later all messed up in the head and naked by some gas station miles away and all of them took the lie detector and it said they were telling the truth.
Because we all know that lie detectors work all the time.

And that conspiracy theorists will definitely not do anything, even lie, to make themselves heard.

-Poll: Do you believe in UFO's?-
Probably Not

-Do you believe in life on other planets?-

Here's what I saw.
Now I've always been pretty sceptical about the super-natural, but last night just after going hunting with my dad and a few freinds, while me, my dad, and friend were waiting for the other 2 to gte out of the woods and back to the car we started seeing some very weird lights traveling through the air high above the feild we were on the edge of. At first there was just one, way off in the distance, but within a minute it zig-zaged its way to just the end of the feild(the other end) that we were on and made its way starting and stoping in a very large circle around the general area. at the same time it would disapear and reapear at different times even though it was to bright to be blocked bye the clouds.
There was also 2 more although they didn't interact. One was just up in the sky(I couldn't tell how far it was or if it was moving) but it was brighter then any star or plane that I've ever seen and disapeared occationaly when I wasn't looking.
The last one was only visable for a few minutes. it was hight up, simply apeared, and moved in a straight line across the sky like it was riding on cables hundreds of feet in the air. I had 5 lights, one slowly fading in and out(it was generaly facing our side of the field), and had 4 more that vere just bright on the side of it like bright windows or something. It was also shaped like a cigar, but one of the weirdest things was that none of them gave off any noise at all(it was very quiet since we were far from town).

I don't think they exist. Sure, there MUST be life else-where. It's simply too unlikely that we are the only life forms out there. But the question if they are sentient or not is somewhat ify (sp?). Even if they existed with technology supperior technology in some VERY well hidden underground complex on Mars or Venus, it would still take them a while to travel here. But we are somewhat certain that no life exists in our solar system. IF they existed in a different star system relatively close going at light speed, it would take years to get within communication distance with us.

So with all that said, unless they have the ability to break the laws of physics, I don't believe that they are even possible.

Because 5 hillbillys who have jobs, families, and friends have nothing better to do than study how to cheat a lie detector? And I'd like to see you cheat one >.>

well yes i know aliens exist, they even exist on our planet, because all alien means is something foreign. As to the existance of life outside of earth, i wholeheartedly support the idea but as it has been said many times before, i highly doubt that they would just be coming to our planet, why not go off and find other planets to make habitable if they are that advanced?

I believe in statistics:

Go somewhere without light pollution and look up at the sky. Notice all those shiny things called stars and how many there are. That is one galaxy alone, much of which has been around for so long it is hard to imagine just how old it is. There are thousands, millions, billions... you get the picture... of other galaxies out there.

A universe of stars.

Now tell me: Are you really so egotistical and delusional to think that Humans are the only intelligent life to ever have evolved on that massive soup of stars?

Now... will they ever come here, here of all places, is debatable. It isn't hard to imagine that any race smart enough to break the massive distance between planets would also be smart enough to detect life on the planets it is passing by. They might get curious and come and take a peak if, for some reason, they where in this end of the galaxy. But... would they really be so stupid as not to have a way to cloak their presence to our pathetic detection devices?

Unless they are a bunch of kids doing stupid things, like taking daddies craft for a spin around a primitive rock to scare the locals.

I agree with this comment. However fast StarTrek ships can go, in real life we'll never exceed light speed, so unless one day we can create a black hole without killing ourselves, I don't think we can go anywhere further than about 100 light years. That's really not very far at all, about 0.1% of Milky Way's length. (Of course, this is assume our current knowledge of physics is correct; which is a stupid assumption to make, as even Newton was wrong)

The real question is what's the big deal about finding aliens anyway? The earth is still a mysterious place, so is our solar system. And there's so much mystery in people, and our own behaviour. There are people you walk past everyday who live completely different lives to you, they are just as alien as the little green men in the sky.

There are so many planets out there that there is a high chance that there is intelligent, sapient life out there. There's actually an equation that can determine the relative chance of alien life existing, but I can't remember it (it should be on wikipedia or google somewhere). The thing is, the universe is so large and is expanding all the time that there is a minimal (almost zero) chance of us meeting such lifeforms in the next few generations (although scientifically, there is a chance of us meeting said lifeforms if they are technologically advanced enough to travel to Earth, depending on the age of both the universe and the race in question). My point is that from a purely scientific point of view there is almost definitely life out there and we may well be able to contact those alien lifeforms at some point in the near future depending on their and our level of scientific development. However, don't get your hopes up just yet :D.

there is also a theory that i saw on a television show in Florida once. They showed a picture of some...thing hovering over some water in a distance and it was circulating the water like it was draining it. So the theory is that if there are UFO's out there, they need water either to live or use it as fuel. Now it was a vague picture and not a clear one, couldve been photoshoped for all i know. But thats what they said, they might use water as fuel.

And also what ive been wondering from time to time, is that why does it have to be aliens investigating us, attacking us?? why cant we be hovering in spaceships over mars investigating what theyre doing? But i guess there just more money out of doing films where there is people getting killed by aliens, not the other way around :)
