That part is incorrect, I believe it needs something extra to work properly (something included with a Kinect purchase presumably, might only be the requirement for an additional power supply), but it is compatibleMr. Grey said:and the fact that I don't believe any of the old Xbox 360s are compatible with it, just the new one -- again, I don't know for sure regarding that.
I hadn't heard about a bundle. That's pretty good. But it's still $100 more than the Wii.SteelStallion said:It's $299 for a Kinect/Xbox Slim bundle, which is pretty reasonable.Dxz5roxg said:The Wii hasn't been doing as good as it was so anything will have an effect on it. The real question is whether or not people will want to spend all the money on a Xbox ( if they don't have one ) and the $150 Kinect.
While I hate the fact that Microsoft and Sony are just being bandwagoners, I've got faith in Kinect. Some good could come out of that thing, at least it's a step forward.
Ah okay, I was just trying to figure out why the new Xbox 360 had that sticker saying it was compatible with it. I mean, built in parts made sense, but it never mentioned that so it left me wondering just how hard are they trying to sell the new Xbox 360. It wouldn't have been the first time a company pulled that schtick.Jadak said:That part is incorrect, I believe it needs something extra to work properly (something included with a Kinect purchase presumably), but it is compatibleMr. Grey said:and the fact that I don't believe any of the old Xbox 360s are compatible with it, just the new one -- again, I don't know for sure regarding that.
I have no idea where you came up with the notion it can't detect black clothing, or that baggy clothing had an effect. The system tracks skeletal movement even in low light. I was in the middle of Mall of America and it detected me fine even with a bunch of shit going on behind me.Mr. Grey said:Kinect has hit a few snags lately. Some that are fairly concerning, such as it has trouble picking up anything in the shade of black or that it can't understand skirts and baggy clothing. It also has that price to consider and the fact that I don't believe any of the old Xbox 360s are compatible with it, just the new one -- again, I don't know for sure regarding that.
Then there is the fact that the Wii has hit its mark and left victorious as Sony and Microsoft just finally showed up for the competition. So it's already sold as much as it is going to and any damage done to it will be minimal. They've already moved on to start making the 3DS. Nintendo is done and bored with this, from what I can tell.
That might be true but for that extra $100 you are getting HD gaming, a back catalog of amazing games and future amazing games. Also for $50 a year you will get the best online system ever. No more fucking friend codes.Dxz5roxg said:I hadn't heard about a bundle. That's pretty good. But it's still $100 more than the Wii.
None of which are compatible with Kinect, making the point moot as well as incredibly subjective.mrpmpfan said:That might be true but for that extra $100 you are getting HD gaming, a back catalog of amazing games
Prove they will be amazing.and future amazing games.
You confuse fact with your opinions. Personally I like Nintendo's online system because for most of their games, you don't actually need friend codes in order to just go online and play...and it doesn't cost money to play a game I've already paid for. Also for $50 a year you will get the best online system ever.
1. There was that Angry Joe video where the staff member himself said that it had trouble detecting darker clothes and Angry Joe happened to be dressed as a Dark Jedi, so if he had trouble it was because of that. Then there was that news bit where it explained you couldn't wear long skirts or baggy clothes. [2]The old Xboxs are compatible with Kinect the Kinect camera will just need an additional power supply as oppose to the new Xboxs which can power the device.
[3]Nintendo isn't so much done and bored with motion controls they just started with severally limited hardware and have nowhere to move. Nintendo has been ripping off gamers, my favorite example is how they re-released Pikmin with no improvements other than pointer controls and charged $50! They even re-released Congo Bongos...without the Bongos...
[4]Microsoft is doing what they do best. They might not innovate but instead they carefully watch the competition and then find a way to improve upon what they have done and blow them out of the water.
I didn't say the back catalog was compatible with Kinect however when buying the bundle you not only get Kinect but you get the Xbox 360 which has proven itself to have a great list of titles. Also I don't have to prove to you that Fable 3 is amazing, play Fable 2 and come back to me. Name me even 3 titles that have no friend codes system and allows you to play right away. Also what do you use for a microphone on the Wii to communicate with those you play with online?tomtom94 said:None of which are compatible with Kinect, making the point moot as well as incredibly subjective.mrpmpfan said:That might be true but for that extra $100 you are getting HD gaming, a back catalog of amazing games

I think that neither Kinect nor Move will be as successful as the Wii's successor, which Nintendo will announce shortly after the launch of the 3DS.
