No just... just... no.
Why would people buy a Xbox and Kinect just for Kinect when they already have a Wii.
Same goes for the Move.
Most Wii owners are more casual then those of us who have an Xbox 360 and/or PS3.
The Wii will not be hurt I can promise you.
[sub]Even though I will buy the Move[/sub]

Not really.

I can't see casuals buying a 360 to get Kinect, I can only see people who own a 360 already buying Kinect. And from the looks of things, most of us don't want it.

I choose "fuck motion controls".
How do you not seeing casuals buying the 4 gb Kinect/Xbox 360 bundle for $299? They get a free game (Kinect Adventures) Kinect and a 360. The $100 extra also gives them a DVD player, with Xbox live it gives them Netflix application instead of a disc. Also you get demos, can rent videos, will get ESPN and even the Zune music service in the future.

Also for those who say Nintendo is moving on to the 3DS. I almost laughed. Have you not read the stories where game companies have concerns to program for it. Also its a handheld system not a console.

I really don't think the Kinect will have much of an effect on the Wii. For one thing, I don't think anyone is going to buy a 360 just for Kinect. Maybe if the 360 cost less or Kinect did but definitely not at the current price.
And the Wii still holds the same appeal, it's still fun to play with friends, that hasn't changed. Kinect is only likely to be fun to play with friends. Unless it gets some amazing third party support most people are still going to get bored with it within a month of buying it, just like the Wii.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think Kinect is going to be bad but I don't think the Wii is bad, it's just not aimed at me and other people who regularly play games.

Also I don't have to prove to you that Fable 3 is amazing, play Fable 2 and come back to me.
Hahahaha, Fable II is your proof that Fable III is going to be good? By what logic? That Lionhead can't possibly release 5 over-hyped average games in a row? Amazing is not a word to describe anything Lionhead have ever made.

No my proof Fable 3 being good is from the gameplay videos I have seen and for the fact I had a ton of fun with Fable 2. Also Nintendo has never been known for having great 3rd party support. However Microsoft has been known for that so I have strong hopes.

Personally, I like my Wii and will not be buying a Kinect.
Thats pretty cool. I think the Kinect will offer an overall better package. The best thing is to have a 2nd player play with you on Kinect you need to buy nothing additional. Where is the minimum to pay to get a 2nd controller for the Wii its $40 for a wiimote and $20 for the numchuck. However if you need to play with wiimotion plus it will be another $20. So you are talking $80 extra per person.

Don't be a troll.

I consider a handheld a console, I haven't met a gamer that doesn't and every console has its flaws and strengths. One flaw of the Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite is that it can only use WEP Encryption and the games are often developed only for said encryption even if you have a Nintendo DSi.

The Nintendo 3DS won't be any different in regards to flaws and strengths. That's obvious, what's not obvious is what all of those flaws and strengths are going to be. Save for the fact it's going to be 3D without glasses as a strength and the flaw being that you need to keep it completely perpendicular to keep it working.

Because they'll already own a Wii for a start, and you can do the rest on a PC - they'll also have to pay for Gold.

From this and your other post you're clearly either working for MS or are just generally that narrow-minded you can't except anything other than the 360.

I prefer having a controller in my hands, and the Wii has that. Even so, I voted "Fuck motion controls".

I hadn't heard about a bundle. That's pretty good. But it's still $100 more than the Wii.
That might be true but for that extra $100 you are getting HD gaming, a back catalog of amazing games and future amazing games. Also for $50 a year you will get the best online system ever. No more fucking friend codes.
Have you tried Steam? That's supposed to be the best online system around, (haven't really tried it yet) and it's free.
On topic, the Wii hasn't old well for a few months now. But if a casual gamer wants to play games, they will always pick the cheapest option. Why? Because they are casual. They don't want to fork out the money to get an expensive console, because pound for pound playing it they will not get back what they paid for. Compare it to an audiophile's system, and an iPod dock. The more casual consumer will not look to buy the more expensive system, because they don't need it.

I think no, because almost anyone who'd buy the Wii sorely for it's motion control gimmick should already have one by now.

So as long as there are still SOME good Wii Games on the horizon, Kinect shouldn't be an issue in terms of sales.

And even if it's hurting the Wii, i don't think Nintendo should care, given that they have almost sold as much Wiis as 360ies and PS3s combined...

I imagine sales for the Wii will be going down by now anyway. If Kinect does start wining or whatever, it will because it?s joining a race with an old worn out horse that?s been running since 2006 and has only had a few brakes to feed and maybe get a nice shiny new pair of shoes.

Also the Wii may have done to well already for Kinect to actually make a dent.

Pfft. As if. May I present the following comic (pay special attention to the last 2 panels). [http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=294]

It's an overlap of the target market. Anyone who would want Kinect would most likely have a Wii. Anyone who doesn't have a Wii already won't be interested in Kinect.

Presumably Microsoft are hoping to make ALL their sales off the sad morons who secretly really want to try motion controlled games, but can't back down on their public declarations of mindless hatred for Nintendo because it's not "hardcore!"
