Poll: Do you buy DLC?

One thing that's irked me lately is DLC. If I pay full price for a game, then I'm under the impression that I've paid for the full game. For example, when I bought Beautiful Katamari, I expected to be able to play all the levels. Imagine my surprise when I found out there were several levels available for DLC, which really annoyed me. Even after the fact (As far as I know, this could have been prepared in advance) is Assassin's Creed 2, which has some missions available for DLC. I'm like "...What?" And I realize this argument loses some merit when you buy used, but it's still annoying. In either case, I feel like I'm being mislead, being told that this game is here, for this price, but it's not really the entire game.

On that note, concerning "Project Ten Dollar", what happens when the company stops making the game? You have no choice but to buy used.

Anyways, I'm wondering where all your thoughts are. There's a poll for people who don't want to post, or if you want to do both.

P.S. Admittedly I am not the most informed person on this subject, so if there's anything I'm incorrect in, please civilly let me know it's wrong. And if this has been posted before, sorry, but I searched for it and couldn't find it.

P.S.S. NO TROLLING! I don't care how strongly opinionated you are, you can express those opinions without bashing or swearing at others.

Yes, but I havent recently. When I finish Assassin's Creed 2 I will get the extra sequences, and I may add Crash Course for Left 4 Dead as well. Luckily in the future, the next games I'm getting come with or without it. (Bad Company 2 will be free for me and my LTD version, Final Fantasy XIII doesn't have any, and Alan Wake has had nothing about DLC mentioned)

No. I healthily support expansion packs that are actually worth their money though.

Examples:
Starcraft Brood War
Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne
Age of Mythology: The Titans
Rise of Nations: Thrones and Patrions
Age of Empires 2: The Conquerors
Age of Empires: Rise of Rome
Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge
Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun: Firestorm

These response mostly have to do with "Project Ten Dollar," which I feel is one of the better DLC distribution platforms.

From a Mass Effect 2 perspective (the only game I know of to carry it currently) you buy used (so maybe $30), then if you REALLY REALLY need the DLC, you can buy Cerberus Network Pass from EA for about $10 to access all of it.

So does EA, which is why anything coming out of the Cerberus Network is free if you bought new.

DLC can expand the support life of a particular product, I'm guessing some of the money they're making is going into patching.

Granted, some DLC seems a little silly and superfluous, ("You want HOW MUCH for horse armor?!"). But I think Project Ten Dollar is a step in the right direction.

Yes i buy DLC when i can because i feel it either adds to the main story and fills in the gaps that were made in the original because of the bug problems that were encountered.

I've got all the Fallout 3 DLC and going to get some Borderlands DLC

DLC is just extra joy if you love the game a lot. I don't mind paying a bit for it.

Yes, but I'm more cautious of it since I bought Operation Anchorage on release.

I'm ambivalent on DLC. On the one hand, when I buy a game I expect nothing other than the game itself. If they want to release additional stuff for an additional fee, that's independent of what I bought. (I'm not entitled to free DLC.) On the other hand, I hate not having stuff and don't like little things being blocked off from me if I don't preorder the game/ pay extra money. (I'm a completionist.)

Until DLC becomes essential (For $25, a new add- on: The Save Button!) I won't mind it, and when it piques my curiosity I'll buy it.

I have never spent a dime on DLC. And for those of you who don't know what a dime is, here [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dime_(Canadian_coin)] is the Wikipedia page. And here [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dime_(United_States_coin)] is another one. And here [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimebag_Darrell] is yet another one. And here [http://images.dpchallenge.com/images_challenge/0-999/757/800/Copyrighted_Image_Reuse_Prohibited_600869.jpg] is a picture of one.

The only game I have (aside from AC2 and, at the moment RaCF: CiT) that has DLC is Mass Effect 2. The little DLC thing came with it. So technically I did buy because I had no choice. That's probably the only time I'd get a DLC. The only other possibility would be that the game's remarkably good/fun (Ratchet and Clank) or the DLC's amazing.

I buy content DLC. I don't buy extra weapons or multiplayer maps or any such crap.

I never have before and I'm yet to be motivated to do so, however if a DLC is released that I feel is both worthwhile and is extra content (I will never pay to 'unlock' content that's already on the disc) I see no reason to exclude it.

I weigh the options. For MW2, I'll get the DLC, being a slave to Infinity Ward and such, but mainly because some of those maps are CoD4 uber maps. For games like Forza, it can wait, because having/not having it won't effect the overall game much, and it is WAY over priced for a handful of cars and a track or two.

Sometimes the DLC isn't completely built or tested thoroughly enough, but the devs will put it on the disc so the download is smaller and they have as much time to fix it as they want. Don't think I'm defending them too hard though. A "DLC" that comes out a WEEK after the game comes out? Come on. We're not retarded.

No, I don't. I recenly considered getting the Fallout 3 DLC until I realised the DLC would cost me more money than a brand new game.

DLC just isn't worth paying for.
