Poll: Do You Care About Achievements?

Well, I'm a perfectionist, so, if a game is has too many achievements or extra missions or WHATEVER, I go completely insane and overwhelmed, and have to quit the game. (WoW)

I did like the achievements in WoW that gave you a title though. I got Ambassador, and it took FOREVER.

I also enjoy my MK racing score - 8900

I personally don't but I know people who swear on their gamerscore.

I prefer Trophies then Achievements because one Trophy is more rewarding then 5 Achievements but thats my opinion

i dont have both, i only have a 360 but i would assume that the achievements are the same as trophies but just called different names ? How could trophies be more valuable ?

Achievments are fun, especially the cleverly titled/silly ones. I absent mindedly go after them but won't do something unfun for one.

I mostly do them because they bug me. I must either have them all, or none of them.

They're fun to achieve but I wouldn't do anything for them. Stuff like the garden gnome in hl2 ep2 are very cool, but others like kill x amount of y are just gay.

I got a lot of them, so I care. But I won't go as far as to say I'd so anything. After all, I still haven't played "Avatar".

In fact, I just hit 50000 gamerscore the other day...But I still play games just for the fun of it.

I don't care for them unless I get in-game bonus, like more damage or faster ability recovery, or more life, etc. Kind of like the Mass Effect achievements, and even then I didn't exactly went after the harder to get ones since I would need to either get stuck with a character I don't like or do some silly stuff that will more likely annoy me instead of simply being fun.

It's pretty cool to have achievements, but it's really nothing special. I'm happy when I get an achievement, and sometimes I go out of my way to get them, but I'm not the kind of guy who'll go into Achievement servers on TF2 because I HAVE TO HAVE THEM. That's another thing about achievements. The Xbox Live achievements are just there and show people how much you play games. The TF2 achievements actually mean something. You actually get rewarded for the achievements instead of having a silly number go up. Rep means a lot more to me than achievements.

Im hardly aware of what achievements are available for for some of the games I play. When I do, I tend to go after them only when im bored.

The thing that sucks about achievements is that with some games that's all the reward you get. For example in GTA you used to get better armor value when you did the vigilante missions, in GTA 4, you just get an achievement.

GTA4 didn't have any sort of rewards in it like it used to; even the hidden packages/flying rats only got you an achivement and some crappy chopper that doesn't even spawn by a safehouse.

The only time it's good is if it expands the game, like when they patched pixel junk monsters for trophies; it was like getting whole new levels.

Although they are fun to get at times, achievements are rather pointless. I'd probably care more if you got rewards from gamer score.

Achievements are a cheap way for developers to forego ACTUAL rewards and another pointless thing for Microsoft to advertise as a 'feature' of their GFWL service for PC...

I can appreciate a funny and original achievement, though, like carrying that dwarf figure through an entire Half-Life game

I live for my gamerscaore lol, i love having it higher than most of my friends, sometimes once youve fully completed a game its good to go back and waste some more time getting these achievements.
