I thought I had lost the love of games. I thought I was just growing up, and then a little game called Rayman Origins popped up and I played that game for hours.
It was the first time in years that I invited people around to play a game with me at my house, it was bright, it was fun, and I swear I don't work for Ubisoft.

After that, I bought a snes and I've been playing Yoshi's Island, and reliving my childhood games.
I just hope developers put out some more games that are genuine silly fun, and less grey, lifeless shooters so I can continue gaming for years to come.

(I also think the lack of genuine multiplayer, i.e. people in the same room, was a large part of my distaste in games. I'm a social butterfly yo!)

I still love games just as much as I did when I started. The visceral satisfaction of grabbing that hard-to-reach star, of finding the right strategy to take down that monster, of discovering a hidden pathway and following it to new places... That feeling hasn't gone anywhere.

All I can say is Ignorance is bliss.

Yes, I feel that playing a games as a child was more fun, because I was just playing games. Nothing to worry about, doesn't care if the game was not finished just playing games for the sake of playing games.

As I start to grew older, I've started to think much more and sometimes it will just make me lose my immersion to that game.

Depends on what kind of games. I'm only 20 now, but with my school work and social life I hardly ever have time to game. Huge games like the Elder Scrolls Series and Fallout I tend to play less. Oblivion I could easily play for days at an end. Skyrim I'm lucky if I manage 3 hours a day. So I tend to play those games less.

As for more heavy story based Games I enjoy them now more because I can actually understand what's going on :p

I enjoy them much more now. As a kid, I didn't really care about stories or characters (although having said that, the only games I had for most of my childhood was Doom II or Age of Empires amoung a few others). Now I appreciate the intricate details alot more.

And when I was a kid, I had the imagination of, well, a kid. I didn't need games to be transported to a new universe with fantastic adventures. I guess I don't have the imagination I used to...

I'm not sure. I don't play them as much, but I wouldn't say I enjoy them less.

I find games insanely exciting. I managed to swindle my way into a job at an indie-studio last year and found myself in a position that I fantasised about when I was a kid.

Games are more enjoyable now because I get to apply what I play to how I work.

My university, friends and girlfriend take a lot of time away from gaming. This means when I do get a good gaming session (especially with friends or aforementioned girlfriend) it feels that much more satisfying. It is either a break from responsibility, bringing in people I like to a hobby I have that they don't have as much or (if I'm gaming on my own, especially story driven games) a good bit of me time. So I enjoy them more now then I did before. Also I don't have to wait for my mom to buy me new games. Now I get them when I want/can.

I enjoy games more now because I've grown up, so I now understand themes and symbolism a lot better. Plus, my skill has only increased with age, so I can get more enjoyment out of difficult games.

No, but then again I was a really stupid kid and had unbelievable fun with even the worst games you can imagine.

Yeah I think I still like them just as much. When I was a kid I wasn't allowed to get new games past 2001 so I was constantly going to friends' houses to play their games.

I would say it could be argued that I don't enjoy anything as much as I did when I was a kid. Games, movies, holidays, birthdays all degraded due to years of becoming increasingly jaded.

I still enjoy playing games, but now I can afford all the games I want, but I don't have the time to play them. I begrudge the time playing games that don't have a specific end-game (games like SimCity or Diablo, both games I loved when I was younger, and less appreciative of my impending oblivion) because I don't feel the progression. Getting older (I'm 40) means that I don't often go back to games I enjoyed, because there is always a long list of games still to play for the first time (yes, Steam Sales). I only have another 50-60 years on this planet, if I'm lucky.

I almost miss the times when I was younger, and only had one or two games, and played them to death. (Seriously, I know the AI from the original UFO/X-COM and Master Of Orion like you wouldn't believe.)

I still loves the games, it's a great break from real life. I'm just a little burnt out on the selection I have, I never picked up ps3 or 360.....

Yes. When I was a kid it was just something to pass the time on a rainy day, I'd much rather be climbing trees and playing football plus I didn't really understand the stories because I never listened to dialogue. I enjoy them more now because I actually get something from the stories and understand what's going on.

In a different way I do, I think. Now I'm super jaded and only buy games I'm certain I'm going to like. And even then sometimes I don't. But the winners are big winners. I'll be playing Fallout 3 for years to come, graphics be damned.

Back when I was a kid whatever I got was good by virtue of the fact that it was a game. Warioworld for gameboy? Good enough: 100 hrs. 1080 for n64? I don't even like snowboarding but I'll play this with anyone that'll tolerate it. Skifree - entertained numerous 10 hour workdays in parent's office.

I still love games as much as I did back then. I mean just look at the piles of them behind me. Tons of money. They just tend to suck more/less variety.
