Poll: Do you enter your real date of birth?

I do now, I'm old enough that my real date of birth won't effect my access to videos on the internet. Before, however, I used to say I was born in the late forties, since my real age would probably have kept me out of what I wanted to see. No, I'm not talking exclusively about porn, I refer to videos with "violent content" as well.

Nope. Takes way to long. I'm over 18, but it's much easier to just select 1983 real quick (or what ever date I feel like. I was 80 once) and be done with it.

but if its one of those "18+ to enter" things for promo websites, trailers and even porn sites (why lie?), no- I've been over 18 for years so I just set the year to sometime in the 80's- since they are usually already set at Jan 1

I used to for a few over 18 websites. (Not porn) I'm talking about things like the resident evil site, which you have to be 18 for.

However now that I am 18 I no longer need to, I can visit any site I want.

Seeing as how i am 18,i do use my real birthday. up untill that age i always used my web persona's Birthday of August 23, 1986. No real significance of that date. just did it once and i was (and still am) just ocd enough to use it all the time

Usually, no. It isn't that I have to lie about it, it is more of a laziness thing... I was born in December, on the 27th, in a year that wasn't in the past 10, so I have to scroll down for all of them... So, instead, I just change whatever so it will let me through...

Yes, because I'm old enough to where it doesn't matter. I'm sure most sites make you do it because they're trying to "protect the kids" or "keep themselves from being sued by irrational parents." Honestly, though, if I was a kid I'd probably lie so I could see the game footage that some websites won't let you view without an age check.

Sometimes I wonder why Gamestop does it. Several of the videos I've had to give an age for on their website didn't even show violence or sexual content.

when registering for sites I do, but on sites ith age gates whre I'm too lazy to register or enter the specific date I just scroll down a bit and pick a year that'll pass the gate

I was born 01/01/80 so it's usually not a pain for me to enter in my real DOB.

Though I'd probably put in 01/01/something if I wasn't born on New Year's Day.

Yes. well, sometimes. On the Escapist I do, but on sites like Youtube, I have two separate accounts; One with my real birthdate, which is my normal account, and a second account for when I want to watch age-restricted videos.
