Poll: Do you feel insulted if someone calls you a nerd/geek/dork/ect. because you play video games?

Yes it's rather hilarious when people try to pick on others by calling them nerds/geeks for playing video games. Oh yes you think it sound derogatory, but all you just said was "You're a person who has a superior hobby and better sense of humor than me." Usually I thank people for the comment.

I don't feel insulted at all, in fact I frequently call myself a nerd.

My love for games and technology has led to me having greater technical skills than the average person. This comes in handy for my job.

My collegues know this and appreciate it.

Most people that call me a nerd are my friends, but there are some irrelevant people that I don't like and wish to have nothing to do with that call me that and I indirectly thank them for that because if I'm not a nerd then that means I'm like them, dear god no!

I wish people WOULD call me a nerd/geek, actually. I consider myself to be one, but I hardly ever get called out on it.

Hell no. The only way that could happen most of the time for me, since I have so much more interaction via the Internet than in RL, is if I'm on a forum that could be considered 'geeky', making the person who's calling me 'geeky' a hypocrite. And if it's any other situation, I just wouldn't care.

I haven't really ever been called nerdy or something like that.
I don't know how I'd feel.
But I was once called a "keener" ("Streber" in German) in school because of my good grades.
I didn't feel insulted though I was a bit embarassed.
So I voted "no".
