Ehh, Fallout 3 and Red Dead made me feel nothing for the innocent bystanders and such so there really was no issue there. The only game that has ever had me at an impasse was Bioshock 1. My first play through, I sat at the choice screen on whether to save or harvest the little girl for like half an hour. Finally decided I really just couldn't kill the little girl despite my normally being an evil character and saved her. This same mentality carried on to Bioshock 2 as well. I guess I'm pretty okay with doing evil things in games as long as it isn't towards little girls?

I actually do, I didn't answer the poll because I really don't know why...I think in a way it would break immersion for me to be evil in a game like Fallout 3, where I have created my own character and I am semi-projecting myself onto it. I am the kind of person who feels guilty about doing anything that would hurt(or even inconvenience!)another human being, so the second my character starts slaughtering innocents...I'm disconnected from it.

The only times I'm bad are when I go on a rampage. But I never save after a rampage.

Let me see, helped a guy cheat, killed a policeman for items, shot up the hobo and blew up megaton. I would say yes, very difficult.

If its a moral choice system, I.e "Good, Neutral or Prick" options, Im ALWAYS good, I cant see the point of being a dick just for the sake of being a dick.

But i dont mind playing the bad guys in RTS's, etc, because if i win, I win! and if i lose, the good guys win.

I'm someone who really gets into games, especially Fallout 3 and Red Dead Redemption where the atmosphere makes the game. So yes, its very hard for me to be bad. In Fallout 3 (spoiler alert) when you're in vault 112 when I first visited Tranqulity Lane, I had no idea of how to get out of it other than following "Betty's" orders, I felt terrible...but just a little joy when I sabotaged the oven....he he he.....
Not nessesarily so much in Red Dead, but while I was still doing the story, I only killed those who needed to be killed, but now that I'm done with the story and my multiplayer isn't working and Rockstar insists on not going past patch 1.2, I find it easier to gun down two people or so riding a wagon down the dusty trail...so long as nobody is looking...and I have my bandana on.

theres no such thing as "evil"
just "difference of views"
so If I decide to brutally murder a little girl and eat her life essence so I can shoot lightning from my hand then thats my buisness.

depends what game, in mass effect i really can't help but play paragon because the renegade options just make you seem like a brute, same pretty much goes for Kotor, but in games like oblivion and fallout i can easily play the evil character.

I've dediced that this is down to the fact that in oblivion and fallout it's my actions that label me evil and not the actual dialouge choices, in those games i can play as the cunning, manipulative, charming psycopath, while in games liek mass effect and kotor if you go renegade/evil you end up sounding like a complete dunderhead that likes to hit stuff

I tend to play through games with "morality" once acting how I would (normally being the "good guy"). Then once being a total dick/villain.

Being evil is fun for about 10 minutes, then i tire and re-roll as a good or neutral. I enjoy the path of the hero. The moral choices suit me and enrich my gaming experience.

It depends. I can seldom be bad without some sort of reason, and I can't be evil when dealing with innocents etc. However, there will be no mercy to be had for the bad guys. The only times I've been responsible for the deaths of innocents in games have been when I've deemed it strictly necessary. I'm not always too good at limiting collateral damage...

Edit: I feel Mass Effect 1 and 2 gives a fair representation of how I play. 40% paragon score (That's the crew, and defenseless innocents,) and 100% renegade (That's everything else except for when renegade is a moronic decision.)

No because morals in video games can bite my ass, it's a GAME, you won't become a psychopath if you go on a killing spree that never happened in real life. Also, it's fun to be the bad guy and games are supposed to be fun.

You guys ever hear the saying "You don't know what you have until you've lost it"?
That was the case in Fallout 3 when I blew up Megaton.
Anyway, nope, I can't be bad. Maybe for a little bit, but I always end up on the good side. Hell, I can't even do Neutral right. I remember in Fallout 3 I spent a lot of points in speech so I could avoid fights and get more caps. I'm not all good though, I steal a bunch of shit, and occasionally if no penalties present themselves I take it upon myself to make the more...annoying things go away, but in my eyes I'm doing the world a favor.

Usually I tend toward the "good" end of the spectrum, though I think it has less to do with morals and more to do with my fear of killing someone or something that would be useful in a quest somewhere along the line LOL

in a game like fallout 3 or oblivion.

hell no. its so easy to be the bad guy, and you get such an advantage (imo)

being a good guy in those games, such a disadvantage, and it doesn't matter for shit mostly to the world.

now in say mass effect?

i had to save the council, human compassion mannn, plus i love those "i told you so" moments, which shepherd for sure had one of those to the whole damn council after that, plus im just a goody goody

thats when i am the good guy.

or in kotor i nearly always go the jedi route... just like im going to in tor =]

and in a game like fable, i could do both, but mostly i liked being the good guy.. i like the praise =]

I find it very hard to be evil to innocent people in game. I find it very hard to be good to the douches that were just shooting me. So basically, I give alms to a poor man with one hand while I cut the gonads off the street thug with my other hand.

I've never been able to be evil. I just have a general moral objection to being the bad guy. Even in a simulated environment I can't bring myself to wrong the people in the game.

Fallout and Mass Effect are the 2 that I tend to get the most involved with. But for some reason when it comes to Oblivion for example, I have no qualms in stealing everything that isn't nailed down.
