Yeah, I hate that guy. :p

People on Xbox Live, neigh, all of the internet, feel safer and more secure when enveloped in anonymity.

It's a fact of life.

It's more like SOME guys online are pathetic.

The ones that annoy me either in LFD2 that make stupid jokes about how girls can't play when I'm doing much better than them on that certain stage and of course after the round is over they friendly fire me until I have to leave with insults flying to me about how chicks are stupid and what not. Or how they kill me multiple times and go into the headset saying, "Are you crying yet b*tch? or "Know your place."
Wow... that is truly the work of Dick McDicky and chums. The girls I've ended up playing with on L4D are often way better than most guys, (and most of the time definitely me) but yeah, there's really no excuse.

I see it happen pretty often, but usually the girl ends up owning the guy in some fashion, either verbally or in-game, and it makes it all worthwhile.

I've never seen this but have heard others talk about it. I think the only solution is for girls to use this anonimity against "those guys". I know i've often used it to point out people's arrogance and/or wanna be gangsterism.
A little off topic but... why do people keep talking about my mom o_O

Download the demo for Phantasy Star universe, make a female character.....play for maybe a week or two and see if you can say that again.
I did play phantasy star universe for a while. In fact after my established friend and I starting playing we switched avatar roles. She became the large inhuman CAST and I took on a lolicon type Newman. Yes I was hit on and everything but guess what I DIDN'T CARE! Just ignore them is it that hard? I mean once you enter the mission area that can't even really bother you. Unless they message you in through Xbox Live and still you can ignore them. And while I didn't say this before there are some people out there simply trying to be nice and you telling them to "F OFF" is not helping the situation. If anything it just creates more of the people you hate so it's not like you'r helping your situation.

As a male: I don't have to embarrass me in such ways online, I don't need to annoy fellow female players; I have Strike Witches, 11 of them to be exact.
Also, there are no female avatars in the games which I play online. Only manly soldiers, uh...

I don't play online games too much and I don't play them with large amounts of random people, so I've surprisingly never had an incident of this occur.

I have had someone(another guy) ask if I wanted to cyber, though. It was somewhat creepy, but whatever. I'm so effeminate most people think I'm gay IRL so it's just a funny story to tell.

Also, offtopic, how do I unreport people? I accidentally hit the report button earlier.

I have this all the time, I run a TF2 server so I use the mic a lot to handle things going on with in the server. Its funny when new people come in and realize that I'm a girl, the jokes and sex related stuff comes out. I don't mind it unless they start being asses saying I'm pms'ing or some fat ugly chick which gives them a nice ban as a goodbye gift.

The Xbox live community doesn't discriminate...its equally offensive to everyone.
Exactly.

That's why I stay off XBL.

I have a friend who I met online gaming. She and I get along quite well actually now, mostly because I treated her like a normal human being. Not everyone is a low life.

Also, I'm pretty sure you'd get those low lifes in Real Life just as much as you would online gaming. Ever been to a club?

I notice it all the time, but I don't really care.
I don't do anything about, or try to be "the white knight" for the girl, because that's almost the same as the problem. Xbox Live is great for discrimination though isn't it?

I am sick and fucking tired of random guys coming up to me in Phantasy Star Universe saying shit like "can I see a picture of you" and other bullshit like that.

Even the ones that just say hi to me piss me the fuck off, the come up and just say "hi" out of the fucking blue, yeah I fucking know why you're coming over from your group of friends to say hi, fuck off!

They all think just because they come over, start talking to me and being all nice that I will fucking fall in love with them.
Someone is a tad bit angry. Btw Nice Houjou Satoko avatar, I personally like the one where Rika is beating the shit out of her.

p.s. Don't flatter yourself I'm not trying to hit on you.

I imagine that it can be bad; being a guy myself, I try to be the exception to the "asshole-guy-online" rule.

I play in games with women from time to time, while I just try to get on with the game due to my very easy to penetrate sense of humour I can't help but laugh at the big ruckus that starts up. A player joins who's obviously a girl, a few sleazebags start cracking jokes (I admit some of them are sort of them are sort of funny) involving kitchens and perving, the girl either ignores them or just gives a quick little comeback, some bloke who tries to act like the sheriff of servers makes an enormous deal over it which in turn just makes the situation worse than it already is and the cycle continues growing larger and larger.

If we cut out the big "Responsible" men who don't mind sticking their nose anywhere they please that ake an enormous deal over it by berating the guys who cracked the wise (Or start threads on gaming forums every other day concerning it) then it wouldn't be such a huge problem and we could learn to live and laugh.

Thankfully I haven't been playing many games in which this happens. Last time I used a mic was in the MAG beta, not a single girl in site and we all just talked tactics (apart from this one group of guys who liked my Australian accent).

Men are dicks. Not just on the internet, but in general.

I have often noticed that some guys just keep harassing a certain girl for fuck all reasons. And I usually end up yelling at them to do the fucking objective.Or tell them that just she might be a female of the species human, and just want's to have some fun while playing the game.Sure,I usually get made fun of for being "An internet white knight",but I don't mind it.I just ignore it,or mute the fuckers.
And I know that protecting women like that might be classed as sexism, like I'm trying to protect the weaker gender.Well it's not,if a guy is getting shit from women, the I usually back the guy up.

This shouldn't be a problem if the women just stayed in the kitchen and make sandwiches.

XD. Holy shit that brings back memories!

First time I played, I had a little gothic lolita character help me out. It was a guy, and a cool guy at that, but the entire time we hung out and he was that character, all I could see were huge buff male characters come over and say "Hey babe, dump this nub and come wit me!"
On the plus side, he got alot of free stuff. All he had to do was pretend to make his character have oral sex and he could save 30+ hours of gameplay hunting for a rare item.
*sigh* f there's one thing I learned, it;s that if you really wanna be successful in an MMO, pretend to be a girl. My pride would never let me though. I like to make my avatars as much like myself as possible.

EDIT: THey really need PvP in Phantasy Star. Just So when some one wants to start shit I can actually kill them.
