I voted "Yes", but... I did recently see one good use of a QTE. In FEAR2 you come up against a sort of mini-boss (Colonel Vaneck) and fight him in a short QTE. My initial reaction was "oh god, a QTE" but when I thought about it I decided that the QTE was probably the best way for the devs to handle the encounter. I mean, what are the alternatives? Either you play a cutscene (which somewhat breaks the whole immersive/interactive aspect of the game) or you have a boss fight which would have to be either easy and short (and therefore underwhelming) or long and difficult because he has stupid health (again, immersion is shattered) or - worst of all - ridiculously contrived (e.g. you have to shoot three generators powering a shield around him to make it go down for a second, or something equally silly). Out of all of those options, I'd choose the QTE.
But in general I really hate QTEs and think that whoever invented them should roast in hell for, oh, at least a century.
