Nope. Never had one. I'm 19 for the record. Let the taunting - begin!!
Same here. :/
You got me beat by about 8 months though...
Likewise...

19, Never had a girlfriend...

Although I really was never looking for one in high school...

Damn, I hate being a statistic...
Don't worry about it. I'm 19 and I've never dated (but I'm a chick, which is almost worse!). I also know other girls, who are 19, and have never dated. I keep hoping that maybe with all this bad luck and waiting, that the first relationship I get will be the right one. I'm sure the same will go for you guys too.

I just think it's funny how all of the guys at my college are complaining about how they never get girls when a lot of girls I know are single and pretty willing to go out with almost any guy who asks. It's just funny to me.
The main reason I don't date is that I prefer personality and intellect over looks, which tends to make normal dating difficult. It essentially means that I have to get to know someone fairly well before I would even consider asking them out...

It's pretty much a Catch 22 unless we are introduced through a mutual friend or we work together in school...

I'm 17 and I've been rejected by every girl I've ever asked. But I think that's about to change. For the record I'm one sexy SOB :)
It's easier if you can tell the chick likes you, then you ask the chick out. I was dense in high school and asked out two or three chicks and got rejected, while ignoring chicks who were interested in me. In high school, I eventually did ask out a chick who I heard was interested in me, and of course she said yes.

I'm currently in a long term relationship with a chick who took the first step by striking up some conversation with me.

So, my advice: pay attention to a chick's behavior. It's a no brainer, but I sure as hell didn't get it when I was in high school. Don't confuse friendly with interested though, since some chicks are just friendly... the wierdos.

soon, very soon. Tomorrow after school will probably be were we hit it off.

To OP, why ask her out before leaving? Is she going to be asked out in that time span?

A couple reasons. One, if she's hot, yes, she might.

Two, if its a total rejection, the awkward phase will be nonexistent.
excellent. Nice planning.

Not for a lack of trying, but no.
I think it's for a fear of failure, and intimacy, and a general distrust of my fellow man. I've seen plenty of people have shallow, callous, meaningless relationships... and yet they're always surprised when it inevitably ends. Leaving one, or both parties crushed. I hesitantly expose my feelings to other people, that makes me vulnerable, and if I'm vulnerable I'm liable to get hurt. The closer you let people in, the faster they'll be able to kill you.

I had one of those complex relationships where the line was blurred. We wouldn't call each other boyfriend/girlfriend, yet we went on dates regularly.

No, but I have asked a girl out, and at least two have shown interest in me in the past.

The shame is, one of the girls that liked me probably would've made for a solid relationship...needless to say, she got a boyfriend before I realized my mistake.

And the girl I asked out, I loved her, I mean it. It wasn't a crush it was fully blown love. However I knew I would get a no before I even asked, yet I still wished I could love her somehow. But that's just not possible, so now our link is a strange one- not quite awkward or tense, but just distant, yet occasionally, clear.

The other girl was hot, but a bit of a ***** anyhow. Would've just been some accessory for her.

Now if you excuse me, these kinds of memories almost make me want to start smoking, or resume drinking.
But damn, every second I spent while in love was absolute fucking bliss.

No. As saddened by this, I can't blame anyone for it. I don't even try. I just have this weird fear of talking to... well, anyone.

Yep. Been going out for 2 years now- living together, actually. After we left home we just got an apartment together. (We planned to leave at the same time with that purpose, obviously.)

Well I have the superhuman ability to fall into the friend zone almost immediately. I am not that attractive and am fairly overweight (I'm working on the weight thing) so I'm never really going to be seen as a dating option.

It used to bother me, but them I realized it is not the end of the world not to have one. At this point I think it would be like a dog chasing a car; I wouldn't have any idea what to do if I actually got one, and would ultimately just get bored. How anyone manages to fall in love is beyond me.

2, I'm seeing. Ironically, I don't have the time for a fully committed relationship. Weird, but that life.
