I have it, but I loathe it.

There's a reason I don't talk to most of the people I know. Facebook does not understand this concept.

No, because I don't trust that mother fucking Zuckerberg with my name, let alone anything else. I even remember an article on THIS VERY SITE saying that Zuckerberg thinks that all those who trust him for their privacy are dumb fucks. No, I don't have a facebook, and I never will. I hate it with a passion.

I've got one. It's got about as much personal info as any site or any person who meets me would have (my name and where I go to college, plus some photos- no address or phone). I use it to keep in touch with my friends, since most have different schedules or are back home.

I do. It allows me to keep tabs on everyone I know (It's only kinda like stalking!), I like using the instant messenger, even though its buggy as hell, and its very helpful for school. For example, if I forgot to write down the Calculus homework, I can get on Facebook and find out in a minute.

Yeah, and I'm probably on it way too much. It pretty much has replaced any instant messaging client; if they integrate Skype-like services it will pretty much become the new standard for online communication of any form.

If you follow bands and such you get a lot of great perks (the Homefront soundtrack is free to download for a limited time, for example), and it's a good way to keep up with friends or just to kill boredom.

I'm not surprised most people here hate it, but honestly, it's just kinda there for fun. Use it if you want.

I have it. It's the only practical means of communication with all my friends.
Many people just look at you funny if you tell them you don't have a facebook.

Yeah, I have one. It is handy for coordinating group projects for uni and for keeping in some kind of contact with the people I know.

As for the privacy issues, I make a point of not having any personal information on my profile other than some heavily edited pictures of myself (I don't even have a gender on there), as well as turning the privacy settings up as high as I can whilst still allowing a reasonable level of functionality from the site.

I also enjoy making cynical status updates occasionally.

Hell no. I value my privacy far too much. I have no need for FB anyways, anyone who wants to contact me on FB can instead use the email account they needed to register it to email me.
Heh heh, I used my Yahoo account to make an FB account - and I neither connect my FB nor Yahoo account with anything. After not logging into Yahoo for three months, it died on me. If anyone on FB tries to get to me through my email address, they'll simply hit a dead end. ;)
You still have an email address because you needed one to register for Escapist. So I wouldn't accept the address you used to register for FB is dud as an excuse.

Oh, and protip: Your Yahoo address is still there. Pop in and reactivate it.
I've got five different email addresses - I use MSN for registering into all my haunts (Escapist, Cracked, Salon, Top Gear, Steam etc.), two Gmail accounts for keeping contact with people and uni applications respectively, one Yahoo for porn registrations (what?) and another for FB (did that since quite a lot of accounts were being hacked). I moved and changed ISP since I last opened my latter Yahoo account (no, I'm not paranoid, it's all... coincidence, actually).

And yeah, I know my Yahoo address is still there, but if I don't log in for more than 3 months, they delete all my mails.

I have it... It's simple and a good way to keep in touch with some people.

It does get a little annoying looking at everyone trying to make their lives sound interesting... but I guess I could avoid that by not reading them... /Fail
