Not at all. My avatar comes from downloadable wallpaper of a game that pretty much 99.99% of the population hates. Does this make me a rebel who wants to stir up trouble? No.

I like to think it means that people see me as a gamer who doesn't judge a game until I've actually played it. That's the intention, at least.

Sort of. If I can tell what it's supposed to be.
I want to know what people think of me based on my avatar, though.

It tells me that you found a picture that may or may not have been humorous and wanted to share that with the world every time you posted... but because you just resized it I can't read what makes the empty room in the picture funny. Sorry...
It says 'The room full of people who care', and to be honest, I was thinking that someone would say I was some sort of hollow, well, thing.
But WTF, right?
Yours makes me think that you like leapfrog with a twisted difference.

It seems I was right... Your avatar is humorous but I just can't read it >.>

As for my avatar, it's more that I quite love Neon Genesis Evangelion and that I saw an opportunity to make one of the best/worst scenes of the movie, End of Evangelion, funny.

I do sometimes yes. For example, in Guild Wars, there is a certain armour combination that fills me with disdain and yet is very popular. I will NEVER join into the same group as that person. Same goes for Warrior Monks in that game. I just look at them and think "Idiot" and I decide that joining would just result in a thoroughly frustrating hour or so.

I also do it with people's avatars on forums like this. If I see a particularity good avatar or one that I relate to and my first assumption is that they are probably decent enough people. On the other hand, there is a particular strain of avatars on the forums at the moment which I shan't mention so as not to cause offence, but whenever I see one, I instantly decide that the person behind it is a raving fool who I want nothing to do with regardless of whether I know them.

All that aside, I have been surprised in the past and my prejudice cast away once I actually got to know them.

In my mind where cartoons frolic freely to my own amusement, all people ARE their avatars. If you have a picture of Frankenstein as your avatar, then I imagine everything you type coming from Frankenstein. So, if your avatar has something that makes me laugh in it, I'll probably find you funny... if it's something that makes me think of being antagonized then everything you say will unintentionally come off that way.

My longtime friends online still look like their PSO characters in my mind, even though I know they're not.

What's the piont? many people put up random things, although many people's avitar reflects a portion of their personality, you can't really know what they are like.

I like to imagine that whatever their avatar is, is who or what is typing the post.

I hope people judge me by my avatar :D

Yes usually.

It tells a lot about the person most of the time.

Just look at mine.
Where did you get your avatar from anyway?
I can't really remember.

I found it...somewhere but I had a user here resize it for me.
