I've known mine for a long time now. <.< It'd be kind of stupid not to memorize it though. :3

No, but I know yours.

We don't have social security numbers here in the UK.

Although the closest thing we have, I imagine, is our National Insurance number.

No, I don't know the number. That's why I have a bloody card.

Here in the UK we have National Insurance numbers instead, and yes, I have got mine memorised. Much more useful than getting my card out every time I apply for jobs...

(Closest equivalent: PRSI number)

No, why would I memorize that? I keep it written down though.

I do. Mostly cuase the last four digits are used for everything (at my old job, it was my log in password plus another number and the lazy bastards didnt even bother to scramble it), but also cause I've filled it out so many times as of late for insurance forms and such.

really its not a hard number to remember, since its only 9 digits.

Now if you asked me what my credit card number was, I wouldnt have the foggiest, and i still second guess if my PIN is right when i put it in (usually cause i confuse it with another numbber thats really close).

EDIT:

I do laugh though, whens omeone says they write it down, or keep the card on them. I keep my card 9as well as my other personal information identity theives would love to get their hands on) in three seperate places, each safe and secure (just cause to get them would be ridiculously hard and pointless). I actually met someoen who was so dumb as to say that they had their SSN, PIN number, and all their credit card details on a word doc on their comp, and thought it was safe cause it iwas in a zipped and password protected file on their comp. On their desktop. And then showed me, cause I doubted someone could be so unbelievably stupid. I pity the poor girl, I honestly do.

National insurance number, why on Earth would I memorise it? You use it when you apply for jobs and bank accounts, that is all. I do not do these things very often.

In Denmark, its the birthday, followed by a four-digit code.

So it's not really that hard to remember.

My problem in this case is that my social is very similar to my credit card PIN, which tends to get people annoyed when I mistake one for the other and hold up the line in stores :p

No. For security reasons! If I knew my NI number, chances are I'd end up telling someone else, by accident or when drunk or something. You can't trust anyone these days! Not even yourself! D=

It's like your credit card number, I've got that memorized, and I could tell you all that it ends with 6642 and the security code is 341. The expiry date is 07/12. Have fun!

(I just made those numbers up, I'm not dumb enough to give you my credit card details... I don't even have a credit card! I've got a debit card! So I don't run out of money without realizing... of course they've got these overdraft things these days. Some people will tell you it's a "safety net", or some other bullshit, it's not, it's a con to get you to spend money you don't have, so you can be in debt without even knowing it! I'm wise to your tricks Mr. Bankman >=\ )

Why yes, it's this.

Neat how the Escapist censors(sorry, I can't do it with a straight face)

I was about to tell that stupid little hunter2 joke again, except with an SSN instead of a password.

I end up using mine pretty damn often. It's kind of silly how much it gets used in the military.

This is in line with National insurance number in which case yes I do remember it. While normally it would be something I written down or forget often but since I looking for a job and all C.V. or job application need you to write it down I end up remembering it at the top of my head.

I'm not entirely sure what a social security number is but I'm not American so I suppose there's no need.
Still, out of curiosity... to the internet!
