No, I'm a thrasher, but I'm still the guy that stands in the back with his arms crossed - staring boredly at the stage.

The moshers are just disgusting little poser kids anyways.

I'm there to watch the bands, not get punched in the face by some shirtless douche bag.

Anyway, yes I do. Very much so :3
Sorry, when I read that I immediately imagined your avatar in a mosh.

OT: I've never actually done it, although I'm the kind of guy who will try (almost) anything once. I suspect I would get torn apart based on videos I've seen.

Um, yeah I suppose so.

But I mean, I don't attend black/Viking/fucking badass metal concerts; I ove my hardcore/whatevercore they call it nowadays music, and that's my homeground. So yes, I love to mosh...but maybe it's not as violent as can be xD

Depends... If it's the 'I WANT TO HURT YOU' kicking and punching and spikes kind of pit, hell no.. If it's the friendly shoving, jumping, falling, picking up kind, hell yes :D
it was a mix, but everybody helped each other up! and there were chicks in hardly any clothes makin out with each other and grinding everywhere you looked!

If I wanted to get battered by 300-pound inbred drunks, I'd go to a family reunion.
that was relatively un-called for.

Uh, no, frankly. I like the odd bit of headbanging, moving my head to the rhythm, but the whole throw yourself around like a loon into other people never really appealed to me all that much. I'd rather just listen to the music, and not be in pain thanks.

Yeah, I've nothing against moshing, I've loads of friends who do it.

I was also in a wall of death for Lamb of God one time, that was pretty fun, so I can certainly see the appeal to some extent. Just not for me.

Why didn't I know of this ;~;

Anyway, yes I do. Very much so :3
they are! its the us leg now, they were doing europe with children of bodom before
saw them in birmingham, was fantastic!!! also, loved ensiferum, they weren't my favourite before, but after their live set, bloody love em! drove from devon, to and from in the same day just to see this gig.

OT: i used to when i was a bit younger, now i'm not as keen. i headbang a lot, but i mainly just watch the show. if i'm a bit drunk, i'll still mosh though, if i gotta stay sober then i just enjoy the show. depends on the music type aswel though ^^

OT: Not anymore, I haven't been in a pit in 10 years or so.
well, this actually worked great as a moshing song! and everybody stopped and shot their fists into the air and screamed "WE'RE THE GUARDIANS!!!" it was pretty epic. and they have faster songs of course

Depends on the crowd. I've seen som epunk acts and the moshing crowd there really tends to go in for the kill. Where I come from anyway. With metal acts however, I usually find moshpits to be rather respectful. It's usually just shoulder tapping and body checking. Then again I usually just go to melodic metal bands and the crowd tends to be easy going.
At the motorhead concert i went to i was able to survive the pit with my friends (we are all 15) it was basically just josseling around and shoving people. Twas fun too! I did stay out of the dog pile though. One because my friends are not all into moshing and were reluctant to do that, and so refused to go to the dog pile and i did not want to get seperated, and two, it was infront of the mosh directly infront of the stage and there was no way we would be able to reach it. Though some guys broke bones during the wall of death testament set up at the american carnage tour concert i saw in lowell. I wasnt on the floor though and could not participate :(

Absolutely love moshing, whenever there's a pit formed at a gig I jump straight in! The adrenaline rush from being in the pit combined with the music makes the night for me. They look, at least in my opinion, a lot worse than they are, if you get knocked down people have been kind and cleared people out of the way and picked you up so you don't get trampled or anything :).

Also NO! That swinging arms/flailing/windmilling bullshit is not moshing, that's wannabe tough guy scene kid crap!
