I didn't, until I heard this song live.

It was a surreal moment; I thought I was watching a different band [it was at a festival, and I got the timeslots a bit muddled] until somebody in the audience screamed 'set guitars to kill!'. The band obliged, and the crowd pretty much imploded.

Having been in some of the most violent moshpits, I can safely say I fucking love it. Gets your adrenalin pumping and you come out of the gig all testosterone'd up.

Seeing these in May. Can't wait!

I loooove to mosh.

I instigated my first mosh pit when Biffy Clyro were playing Wembley Arena at the end of last year. Nothing like starting a 300-man mosh pit by leaping boots first into a guys chest :D (he's lucky I'm not very heavy xD)

No, in fact I would go as far to say I hate it. It's ridiculous. People look like idiots, they are rough and they smell.

I prefer to jump about, scream and hit stuff in the comfort of my own home nowadays. That and most of my pod fodder ain't really conducive to mosh pits, stage dives and crowd surfing.

I do like to mosh as long as the pit's not full of nu-metal fans who think a pit is for punching as many people in the face as possible. A bunch of metlheads shoving each other around whith some great music going on is a hell of a lot of fun. Last year I went to Heavy MTL, moshed at Lamb of God, Slayer, Testament, and the biggest pit I've ever been in(it was the whole crowd) Megadeth.

yeah, luckily most mosh pits consists of people who have respect ;)
Yeah, I'm glad of that too.
When I was at the Prodigy's Milton Keynes Festival, during Enter Shikari's set a huge guy got knocked out on the ground, so the mosh pit pretty much stopped so we could all heft him over the fence to some medical people.

OT: Considering what I've just posted, should be obvious I like moshing.
So much damn fun. My mum always gets worried before I go to a gig and is like "Won't you get hurt?", and I'm like "That's kind of the fun of it...".

Seems like every one of my favorite bands this year is either: In the USA, have already doing a UK tour, or aren't touring to work on an album.
Which is why I might go to Reading Festival, as Muse and Enter Shikari are headlining/playing the last night respectively.
Keep wondering if £84 is worth it though....

Not moshed since... 2007, I think. Heavy Metal night at a club by me.

Just a reflection of my changing music tastes, from metal and punk, to 60s rock and soul, in terms of the predominant genres I listen to.

Also, I don't come to gigs to have a quasi-fight, I come to listen to the music and dance.

I like not having my beer knocked out of my hand, too.

Used to when i was a tad younger (14/15) but i always found crowd surfing a hell of a lot more fun.
Then y'know during the Architects set at Download '09 some dick decided he would like to tie his shoe laces in the pit so i went crashing into him side-ways leg first and tore two ligaments in my left knee and spent the remainder of the weekend with my knee constantly popping out and it bending at its own will. Was all good got blazed beyond belief and was able to jump up and run around and stuff.
The irony that my captcha has well-run in it.

I'd like to but I can't. I had chemotherapy last year and I'm still weak on my feet and constantly breathless. If I went into a pit I'd probably be crawling out 10 seconds later screaming "MY KNEES!"

While I've spent many a happy night in the pit, these days my legs just aren't up to it.
I'll be rocking out somewhere less packed, or at the bar.

Absolutely love moshing, whenever there's a pit formed at a gig I jump straight in! The adrenaline rush from being in the pit combined with the music makes the night for me. They look, at least in my opinion, a lot worse than they are, if you get knocked down people have been kind and cleared people out of the way and picked you up so you don't get trampled or anything :).

Also NO! That swinging arms/flailing/windmilling bullshit is not moshing, that's wannabe tough guy scene kid crap!
SvenBTB said:
Nah. I did when I was like 13 or maybe even 15. It's kinda dumb to me now though, especially since all the kids do it wrong (eg at the wrong times).

it wasnt any b.s. people helped each other up and i didnt really see and actual punching. It was just charging at people :p No wall of death though :( as for the wrong time thing, it wasnt constantly, it felt appropriate and was usually to the rhythm.

And the fag emo/scene kids were hardly anywhere to be found :D

thanks for your opinion, the whole "idiot" thing could have easily been left out though. And rough is the point.

I love moshing, circle pits and my favourite, the Wall of Death.

There´s been hardly a concert, where I wasn´t in one of these.
And since everyone is firendly and respectful, well sofar, it´s
alot of fun.
