I don't tend to pick up pennies but anything else is insta-grab.
The most I ever found found was a 20$ bill that someone had left in debit machine when I was 7; I checked debit machines for money for a few years after that.

Interesting thing I've noticed. I was recently in Scotland, where they use the English Pound.
*ahem* Would that be the British pound (or pound sterling)?
Correct. As you may have noticed, I'm not British, so I could care less.

only if it is paper money.

Although if no one is looking and there is a £1/£2 on the floor, then I might be persuaded to pick it up :)

It would have to be a substantial amount, I don't bend over for a dime :p. Anything over twenty-five cents and I'm pushing people out of the way. The largest amount I found was twenty dollars at a grocery store.

I will pick up any money I find on the ground. The most money I've found is 100$ in a train station.

I once found 50 euro lying on the floor in a store. But that wasn´t nearly as much fun as the time when the girl behind the register gave me back 48,50 when I gave her ten bucks while buying a pepsi.

You better believe it. Money is money. I don't think it makes you look cheap.

I'll pick up all kinds of it. Paper and change. I do tend to avoid pennies, unless I feel like saying that chant: "Find a penny, pick it up. All day long, you'll have good luck." But even if I do and keep it, by the next day, I have no idea what I did with the penny.

Been thinking I need to collect enough to bundle them in those paper things but I keep forgetting.

Bonus: The most I've found was a $20 bill when I walked home from the bus stop. It was raining that day so it was wet, muddy and when I opened it up at home--cause it was folded up and junk--there was an earthworm just lying in it. But I still kept it, just tossed the worm back outside, cleaned it up and there we go.

Yes! I hate shit that is on the ground I pick up everything. Especially if it is money. The highest I have found is $200. It was at an amusement park. I kept asking where the lost and found for the park was and all the employees were like "Oh, I'll take it there". Uhh, no you fucking won't. I never did find it. So I kept it. I felt bad, but the ice cream helped.

It's all context dependant. If it's on a crowded street I pick it up no questions asked, if it's at someones foot then odds are ill tell them they dropped it

I put "Yes, always", but my only stipulation is that it can't be a face-down penny. Bad luck and all that.

won't bother with coppers - in fact, in some countries I've tossed them in the street if the coins are inconveniently big. But bigger than that I'll stop and pick up.

Picked up $40 (a 20 and two 10s) a couple months ago, not sure if that's the most I've found but certainly wasn't going to pass it up.

my way is a bit wierd.
I only pick up Dimes or more.
If i saw it just fall out of someone's pocket, ill give it back.
If it is 1$ or more in a public area (such as a library, any single room space) ill see if it belongs to anyone
If it is just in a place nobody would see without trying, ill take it for myself.

Nah, in Scotland the use kilograms, like any sensible country... :)

Always, even small change. I always need it for bus fare.

I actually found 20euro on the ground while walking home the other day, and it made me so happy.

How about other currency other than American?
And why is there an "I have pride" besides "No" ?
I would choose "Sometimes", but it's not on the list
