I love D&D. Tho I haven't played it in at least 2 years. And I'm missing it so badly, i still remember the hilarious stuff that happened in different campaigns and such. It was all just so awesome, and so fun. Unfortunately, I had to move to another town, since i started attending a University there. And the group more or less slowly dissolved before that, anyways. People got jobs, or went to collage or uni, and well, split up. Kinda sad.
But damn, it was fun. We played mostly 3.5, tho at the start, we used 3.0. Almost all of the party members had a chance or two to try out DM-ing, but one of us stood out most, and he was able to pull out such great stories and hilarious moments, no-one really wanted to take his place and give it a go later on.

Once we have completed the three books I bought, I intend to spread my DMing wings and make my own adventure. There will be black jack! And Hookers!
Good luck with that! I've only once played using pre-made books, and it was one of my first games. It was fun, tho the party didn't really get very far. Anyways, creating your own adventure will be quite awesome, I'm sure of it. Tho there's more pressure on the DM, not only to act and tell the tale, but to actually form it and make it interesting. Some people are better at it than others, but since you've been a DM for a while now, I'm sure you'll be quite fine! Just as long as the players are entertained and engaged in the adventure. Or something like that. Tho the DM should never be bored, either. Everyone must have fun!!!
So, yeah. D&D is awesome.
