It feels good and it's relaxing.

Why would you want to? It can give you cancer, your teeth look gross, you smell horrible, it's addicting, and it has no positive effects.

A woman who is otherwise classy, who smokes, is really hot. One time I was dating a girl and we were both smoking. She took a drag off a cigarette and blew the smoke into my mouth, while kissing me. Hottest thing ever.
Yes. Blowing hundreds of toxins into your lungs is hot.

Then you die of lung cancer.
Wearing a smile.
It's pretty damned agonizing, so I doubt you'll smile. Same with lung emphysema, not so much smiling when you're hooked to an oxygen tank 100% of the time, and when your lungs are simply broken. Nope, that's not a happy life, not being able to see your kids grow up because your lungs failed.
*ahem*
Anyway, for me, no. It's not worth my money, not worth my health, not worth my future, not worth my looks, not worth the suffering it can inflict on my future family, it's worth none of it. I have this very special girl in my life (sadly not special in thát kinda way, if only...), she's pretty young (15) and is already smoking for almost 2 years. Whenever I see her light up one, it's like my heart is getting ripped out of my chest, my stomach is twisting and life itself is giving me a huge 'FUCK YOU, HAHAAAA!!' right in the face. I can already see the effects on her, she's not taking it any bit of seriously, and I fear for her future.
My grandma is also hooked on the stuff, and the whole family can see her being eaten away by it, but she simply won't stop. So it's safe to say that I hate smoking.

Buuut ofcourse I won't go on a crusade against it, afterall I couldn't care less about most people, and if random people want to smoke I really couldn't care less. Go ahead, just don't do it in my face and we'll be good together. It's different for the (few) people I actually réally care about.

Honest to God, it's not, if only... then we (as in, the family) wouldn't be so worried about my grandma, a teacher of mine wouldn't have had to bury his mother so early, etc, etc.

Hahaha, I love the little fuckin' things. I've smoked for about a total of six years, but longer if you count the times I've tried to quit.

I've given up on that though. last I made it a full year before a drunken night of weakness, and shit, I'm not putting myself through that again. I'll take the bad with the good, and just keep trying to cut back like everybody else.

I still love them though. We're like an old married couple.

I smoke, because I'm addicted.

Hey kids, word of advice: don't start. Not even once, just for the taste. Not 'just socially', not 'just on weekends', not because you're curious, just don't.

*lights up*
This. Especially the advice.

No. I'd do pretty much everything enjoyable that destroys my health except smoking (slowly dies from caffeine intake.)

Smoking gives no benefit and only causes damage. Yes some people live long lives as smokers, but personally I wouldn't want to take the risk. Plus smokers stink. I physically cannot be in the same room as a smoker. I was very for the smoking ban, but I'd personally go further. I'd ban smoking in ANY public space, indoors or outdoors because I hate standing next to smokers in a queue outside gigs.

I smoke and I'm proud of it. I get so sick and tired of those of you who treat me like I have the plague, just because I enjoy my habit. Its people like you who cause the rest of us to have to stand outside to have a quick smoke in the freezing rain. GROW UP! If you don't like the smell of smoke or what ever, don't go around those places where smoking is allowed, don't try to change the laws, because you're uncomfortable.

No offense, but that's exactly why I normally DON'T date girls that smoke. That just sounds absolutely disgusting to me. But, to each their own. Power to ya, pal.

EDIT:

its not that nice, but I smoke occasionally as a social thing.

TO be fair to it, its no worse than havin a mcdonalds
Does McDonalds cause cancer? Nope. Just fattyness. And it's much, MUCH less addictive, too.

Grow up? You're the one blowing toxics into our faces. You're the drug addict here (yes, nicotine is one hell of a drug), now we're not asking you to stop (by all means, same with weed, if you want to get high, go ahead, I'm all for legalisation), but just asking to not shove your addiction into our nostrils. Why do some smokers have to light one up in on a packed railway or bus platform while loads of people are standing right next, for and behind them. Is it so hard to do it in your own backyard or home. Why bother other people with it?

I've seen people taking up smoking and they really have to force themselves to like, coughing pretty heavily each time they take a puff. Why would you want to put yourself through that, just to become dependent?

I don't smoke though unlike alot of nonsmokers I have no problem with people that do. As for those of you that talk about the risks, I personally know 4 people who are in their 80s who have been smoking since their 20s and they are in decent shape as far as people who are way too fucking old go. Sure theres that whole lung cancer bit that some people get then theres the throat hole thing, but it doesn't happen to everyone. From what I have seen all of the "bad stuff" that can happen when you smoke is actually pretty rare... unless your body fails at resistance to any harmful influences. Though I did come up with a fairly accurate way to test this: Do you get sick more than once every few months? If so smoking is not for you. This is only supported by the fact that those old poeople I mentioned get sick mabey once a year while the few people I've seen who were largely affected by smoking were sick every other week. Feel free to ridicule this all you want, but it seems to be the way to tell.

I have cut back quite a lot on smoking but I'm still gonna do it. I only had five yesterday when I normally smoke a pack a day.

I don't. Smoking killed my grandma, she could have lived longer if she had not smoked so much but nooooooooooooooo!
Smoking didn't kill your grandma. Being alive for too long killed your grandma, as if killed my grandma a few weeks ago. Guess what? Whether you smoke or not, you're going to die! How about that?

This is all a good point because as heavily as I smoke, the few adverse health effects I've seen went away after just a couple of days of cutting back. I rarely ever get sick, sometimes I'll go years without even catching a cold.

i tried it once. But then someone told me that I had to inhale the smoke from the cigarette and when I did I nearly coughed up a lung. I'll never do it again.

If I wanted to use poisons to commit suicide, I'd get rid of all the other crap that's in the cigarette and just take the cyanide. Its probably faster, and I'd bet it doesn't smell as bad.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is, *takes a deep breath* no I'm not stupid enough to ingest cyanide, insecticides, formaldehyde, sulfuric acid, freon, maltitol, methoprene, ammonia, tar, - - - -
---- acetone, hydrogen cyanide, and butane. *gasps for air*
