I quit before Burning Crusade came out, but recently my new boyfriend offered to pay my subscription fees for both WOW and Final Fantasy XI so i play them both again. I recently got a Death Knight on Kil'Jaden by an obvious name lol. I just did 10 man Ulduar today and I only been playing it again for 4 weeks, Death Knight is such an easy class.

I really don't understand what everyone thinks is sooo AWESOME about WoW. For serial.

It's just like any P2P MMO, and I always get bored right after I lose my title of "newb". I dunno, it just makes no sense.

I just started a few months ago and I'm having quite a bit of fun. I'm doing something which is apparently rather uncommon, leveling 4 alts together. Sure, I don't level very fast, but power levelling doesn't really appeal to me. Sure, you get stronger, but things get harder and it pretty much stays the same in the end. Having four, if I get bored or frustrated with one of them, I just switch to the other for a change of pace. The other night, I came to the realization that, when it comes to tanking, I suck to an almost impressive degree. I don't feel like watching by druid's furry, waddling bear ass get repeated kicked tonight, so I'm going to play my warlock or hunter instead.

It seems to me that doing the same thing over and over is something of a choice the user makes, not an enforced feature of the game. You have to grind to level? Well quit leveling then. Go do something else. My favorite boredom/frustration antidote is to go around being nice to people for no reason. I enchant their stuff, give them potions, upgrade their gear, follow them around and heal them so that they don't have to spend so much time grinding themselves.

But then again, I'm not into the real life equivalent of leveling, collecting shiny stuff, or acquiring a lot of gold. In my life, all I really want it the freedom to do whatever the hell I feel like, even if it's just wandering around doing nothing. And in real life, I love reverse trolling, which is to be kind to people just to see how they react. If I could follow people around in real life throwing them buffs for no reason, I totally would.
This is a very good day for finding people who share my views. I wonder if I missed a fortune cookie saying that somewhere...

Quit a couple of months ago.

Just got boring. Raids are so "user-friendly" now it's not a challenge.
Ulduar 25. Unless you're in Ensidia, I highly doubt you would find this "user-friendly".
Tell me why you know that guild name or why you even care about it?
Seriously that's the only part of WoW i never understood.
the E-fanbois of Guilds they will never, Ever Be part of.
It's not really a fandom I have, just a sort of recognition of the best PvE guilds and PvP teams. Most players who also enjoy the community of WoW kind of pick this sort of knowledge up along the way..
As for why I know the name, Ensidia are well known as the top PvE guild due to a merging of the 2 top competitors. They also recently had their guild name all over the WoW site after they recently cleared some content which hasn't been achieved yet.
Also I like that you commented I'd never be part of those guilds, I don't know how you could ever actually assume that about somebody.
1)Fandom. For me when you add up the "Official" Wow forums The "Unofficial forums (That's mmo-chapion,Wowhead forums respectively)" Trade chat it's fail personally that's my opinion.
I used to read Bluetracker before MMO Started doing it.
To be honest the whole "YOU SHOULD CARE ABOUT ________ GUILD THAT SPONSORS IT'S MEMBERS DID ______" was to be blunt, Rubbish.
2)Content Meh. Personally i had more fun running lowbies at maxx level stuff like ragefire casim or shadowfang keep and others then "Raiding" (for those unfamiliar raid can be described as "Fancy grinding" or a "slow and repeative personality test gone awry")
PvP content was at least exciting. but so oddly balanced.
3)You dropped the name. Seriously would you have remembered the name had you not wanted to someday,in a galaxy far,far away join? See 1).
Nothing personal. Folks who follow the "TOP SPONSERED GUILDS (and yes I'm using caps here as sort of a joke. Seriously it's a game and yes important to some I'm more then sure but MMO Really could do without it.) Always seemed rather off and i never really understood it.
I mean it's WoW Not like across country Sports Fantasy game mmo where if ______"Guild" Did ______ Then YOUR Guild has to respond or something.

EDITTED to Add
In pre-BC it was to some extent necessary to know it to some extent but it was local to your server and it was the AQ quest line.
But waaay overdone.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
I quit after the blood elf island mini expansion thing, guild drama and since it was getting close to the new expansion and I would have had to give blizz money for that I decided to just cut it off (I was using a 1 year game card my friend gave me)I wouldnt mind going back if I didnt have to give blizz money but Im never giving them money again, short story is I got a job with them, dropped a couple of classes and when I went in for training it turned out that since I applied a few months before I wasnt supposed to be able to get a job and I heard I was black listed for some stupid thing so Im a bit bitter about that

Hmmmm, well I still play WoW. Even when I'm burned out the thought of retiring after all the time I've put into it makes me feel painfully sad.

To some extent I'm hoping Blizzard won't keep the game around forever like they did with EQ 1 and eventually launches a new game and gives this one an epic (and positive) send off before turning off the servers forever.

Unlikely, but that's how I'd like to see it go down if I was to stop playing. Eventually I imagine I'll wind up quitting when I get too burned out and then returning periodically as long as it's around, unless a new MMO can really suck me in the same way.

I still play at the moment. But I was able to play in the Aion closed beta last weekend, and as soon as more beta action or live Aion comes out... you bet your shiny metal ass im playing Aion.

WoW to me, is dead. With ret paladins, death knights and rogues possessing so much burst, that an arena lasts on average like 5-10 seconds.

The 2v2 bracket is composed of 60% DK's Ret paladins and druids. IN fact if you DONT have a DK on your 2v2 team, your success in the 2000+ brackets will be marginal at best. (there are exceptions, but rule of thumb is only that... a rule of thumb)

the 3v3 bracket is composed of RPM with varying different trinket compositions.

The 5v5 bracket is pretty much which 5 people can work together the best but still gimped by various class imbalances.

PVE AKA Raiding is subpar. If you can accomplish an attention span higher than a 4 year old, you can successfully raid in WoW WOTLK era. Ulduar the proclaimed "hard like sunwell" is a joke. viva la 1.9!!!

Blizzard is slowly choking out the players that played for fun and awesomeness. Now since they cater to the people who cry about every.single.patch.that.is.released... it will never be the same since they will never make the masses happy until they can curbcheck god and get away with it with no damage.

EDIT: WoW's classes to me anymore, are the same. At one point in time, only warriors had mortal strike. Then rogues got it with WoundPoison. Then Hunters got it with aimed shot. Then rogues needed another buff so now WoundPoisons applys deadly poison as well. Priests had an AOE heal. Then they got another AOE heal... well druids and paladins can do AOE healing now.

Bear druids had frenzied rejuv... now warriors have it. Rogues had shadowstep... now cats have it. warriors had shield slam... now paladins have it... warriors had single target taunt... now paladins AND DK's have it.

Shaman have... bloodlust eer wait was it heroism? oh who knows anymore shammy's suck! (shaman are the red headed step children of WoW... everyones like "COOL BLOODLUST! now back in your fucking cupbard!"

They game kept crashing on my pc, my friend stopped playing, and I just hated the grind so I quit WOW. I do admit it was fun for a while but it got old quick after I ground my way up to level 30.

I quit during BC. It was like this:
So, what do I need to do to get into that dungeon? Grind to Exulted(sp?)? OK.
How about this one? Same thing different faction? Hmmm.
How many are there? Around 10?

*Pulls out the calculator*
*Calculates the time it'll take*
*Looks at the number*
An average of 1 month per faction? I'm out.
*Cancels subscription*
If it was farmable rep, I got most of it in a week. But Netherwing where you only had dailies... that was stupid.
