Amen to that but he does say that if you truly like a game it shouldn't bother you what he says because in the end a review is just one person's experience with it and how they see it

I stopped taking anything he said seriously after the Monster Hunter Tri video.
Not because I liked the game (I didn't like it all that much more than Freedom United on my PSP) but because Yahtzee blatantly lied (or hugely exaggerated) about a point to substantiate his claims.

I take them as serious as any other rewiev. Becahuse I know that they are all subjective.

He sais it himself in one of his videos, something along the lines of: The thing about rewievs are that they are the subjetcive opinions of the rewiever and if you peronally enjoy the game then they really shouldn't get to you.

While his reviews are obviously embellished with profanity and hyperbole for comedic effect, after reading his articles (which tend to be a little more serious in tone) i've come to believe that his opinions in Zero Punctuation are meant to be taken seriously, and that in fact, he just holds games to a very high standard.

As such, i do tend to take his reviews seriously...for the most part. I'll admit, at times, it does seem like he's overly attacking the most minor, niggley thing, just to be funny. But hey, thats why the people love him!

Oh look. It's this tread again.
And by again, I mean again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again etc.
(Doesn't make sense but you get the idea)

OT:
It's not as ridiculous as it sounds to take his reviews somewhat seriously. He usually raises valid points, he just over-exaggerates them.
Just take all his comments with a grain of salt.

I use Zero Punctuation as a resourceful review.

A lot of other websites - Gamespot, IGN - review what's great about a game and put aside the negatives. Croshaw fills in the blanks with the bad parts about a game, things that annoy us.

If he doesn't like it, I'm unwilling to give it a chance myself. I bought Painkiller, Portal 2, Just Cause 2 and Dead Rising 2, and avoided purchasing Wolfenstein, L.A Noire and Bulletstorm on his word.

I regret nothing.

Cause of several videos you just can't take it as serious review source but I watch it for the fun

Not 100% serious, like many here I take it as a bit entertainment and a bit serious. Some of his points are blatantly facetious but generally it's just over emphasising the weaknesses and ranting (done extraordinarily well mind). So I don't take it as the word of God but I do take on board his criticisms and I will look into them if it's a game which is on the fence for me.

I take his reviews with a grain of salt and mash his complaints together with many other reviews I've read and then decide whether or not I want to buy the game (IF I haven't done that yet). I usually just check his reviews for enjoyment, but I also take certain parts of his criticisms seriously.

I do however just dismiss anything he has to say about the difficulty of most games. For some reason the guy always plays on the easy/normal difficulty and then complains that it's too easy. I always thought THAT'S why you can pick your own difficulty in most games, but apparently not.

Also the fact that he downright makes shit up from time to time, because he doesn't understand how to play certain games efficiently. He can complain all he wants of course, since it is all just personal opinion, but it does make him lose some credibility...for me at least.

So, I'd have to say:
No, I don't take his reviews very seriously, but I don't dismiss them either.
