There's been Evangelion and World Painted Blood.

I'd say it's been good.

To be honest the majority of new albums that I listened to this year were a bit disappointing, but there have been exceptions, so at least it wasn't all bad.

Man, I can't wait for all the classic rock guys to come in and rage against all the pop stuff that was out this year =P
Here I am! :)

OP: It's all crap. Metal, pop, rap, etc. are all just different genres that follow a very specific formula that discourages creativity, they just appeal to different demographics but they are all equally uncreative.

They may follow a specific formula, but I'd go as far as say it's a fact that genres like prog rock/metal have a lot fewer rules in therms of structure, and thus are more likely to come up with something creative. Another thing is that bands like Mastodon have tried to reinvent the formula with their latest album "Crack The Skye", and I'd say they've been very successful. I agree with you to some extent when you say rap, pop and metal follows a specific formula, but what metal lacks in originality it gains in therms of raw energy in the music, as opposed to your average RnB/pop song which has been stripped of all it's energy in the studio.

I'd say this year has been pretty sweet, Deadmau5 album lack of a better name has made this year great mainly though.

The on;y thing that has come out this year that I liked was the Foo Fighters: Greatest Hits album. This whole decade sucks for music, when you compare it to the 90s. Well unless you love R and B, pop, emo and rap.

For me it has. New Three Days Grace album, new Breaking Benjamin album, and a new Decyfer Down album.

I don't think I could put it any better than this. [http://www.cracked.com/video_17618_black-eyed-peas-have-officially-written-worst-song-ever.html] Just imagine he's talking about most songs this year and not just one.

Well I'm looking at The Great Misdirect by Between the Buried and Me sitting on my desk, I just bought Dethalbum II by Dethklok yesterday, I got I Told You I Was Freaky by Flight of the Conchords for my birthday, and I got Black Clouds & Silver Linings by Dream Theater and Pray For Villains by Devildriver back during the summer. I would say that this year has been pretty good as long as it wasn't on the radio.

Yeah, the Beatles came back.

Not that they ever left...
The Beatles Collection doesn't count as bringing John Lennon back to life.
I meant the entire Beatles music came back to our hearts and minds.
