I think it it would be fun to sky dive of Big Ben to see who you land on and what sound it makes.

They did, and it was awesome. And should be remade (by which I of course mean it should be made with the full capabilites of modern gaming systems, not an actual remake as such, simply carrying the same brand)

Make GTA London again and my faith in GTA will be restored.

They did. Back in the day.

I'd love to see one in...Australia, actually. Maybe...Melbourne.

GTA V should be set in London, like the original GTA:London 1969 and the awesome GTA:London 1961. The many references to British pop culture of the time were hilarious.

Hate to sound like a broken record but they did, and it was most pleasing.

As for sites for future potential GTA's? Well lets take a look at our check list.

A potential city must be

-Corrupt
-Obsessed with image
-Obsessed with money
-Crime ridden
-Marketed as something it isn't
-Police must not care and bonus points if they break more laws than anyone

Well lets see...

Oh I know!

DUBAI

Yes! Wonderful Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, also where I happen to live. In this city, real life is more or less Grand Theft Auto.

I think it was called The Getaway? Played a demo once, I think its what you mean. Anyway, I'm leaning more toward a Las Vegas-style thing, or maybe an extremely retro GTA set during The Great Depression in Chicago or something... plenty of organized crime in those days, remember Prohibition?

Double post, I know: But Dubai wouldn't work as its a total police state with crappy small roads and heavy traffic, pollution - Might be neat for car chases mid sandstorm, or to eventually "buy" a safehouse on one of the palm islands, but the architecture of the town is too small to support a full GTA experience. I was there for a week a couple of years ago teaching a filmmaking workshop, fell in love with the "Golden Fork" restaraunt in Sharjah :)

I'm going to go find these now.
don't go wetting yourself to find these two games unless you liked the original grand theft auto games. I loved them and I'd play them over and over again because it's mindless fun, but don't expect an experience on par with GTA 3 or 4.

Hmm, well we did have the incident a little while ago were 2 black saloon cars drove full the front window of a shopping mall and through the mall full speed and literally INTO the front of a jewelry store. The 8 men wore suits and balaclavas and were armed with TMPs, MAC10s and UZIs. That sounds like grand theft auto to me ;D

As for not big enough, I agree with you to an extent, if you take into account sharjah and Dubai's existence as more or less one city, then I believe it would quite well.

Dubai's problem however lies that it's a liner city and not a radial city, unlike London, Liberty City, Vice City etc... as a result it would force the player to travel in one of two directions mostly, unless in the downtown area.

I would very much like a GTA game that went back a bit in time, 50s/60s-ish. there really isn't all that much difference between beating down hookers in NY or London, except they'd be fat and had ugly teeth (oh no you di'n't)

ps: sorry for the stereotype, but i'm from germany, don't get me started xD

I think i'd go with the London idea but where GTA usually has a number of islands or something to segment the game, perhaps make London one of a few places the game explores, including other places around England.

Otherwise maybe a GTA:UK, though would have to shrink the scale down a bit as it would be too huge of a game to be completely sandbox. Maybe have bridges to each island setup connecting London to Edinburgh, Cardiff & Belfast.

GTA V in London would be awesome, especially the accents we will here when walking the streets.

One thing that puts me off other locations for GTA is their habit to fuck up accents. 90% of the characters in GTAIV make me want to remove my ears with a goddamn branch.
