Personally, I scored in the top 1% in the world in every discipline imaginable when last tested, attend both Harvard and Yale, and scored 11 zillion on the last IQ test I took. Furthermore, I have a 20 inch penis, a beautiful singing voice, and the power to move through time and space at near the speed of light.

I'm above average. I've taken an IQ test and scored at 146. I couldn't get the military off my ass for several years after I took the ASVAB because I scored so high. I finally realized I didn't want to die from a 7.62x39 round to the chest when I was was 21, so I decided not to join the military. I also know how to build a shelter in the winter, grow vegetables, and hunt wild game. I'm smarter than most people, and I know how to preserve myself in hard situations, so I think I'm good.

Meh, above average, but only really just; I'd probably say of my family, I'm the least intelligent, but possess the best memory for facts by quite a bit; I've never taken any tests, but my family all score 120-130, so I'd reckon I'm a bit lower than that. No idea though.

Like you said it's a simple fact of statistics that 50% of humanity must be smarter then average. I'm willing to take that chance. Also you should specify the average person, at least 20% (I find it hard to make an estimate here) is illeterate, that really brings down the average.
Also you could try harder to define intelligence. I'm absolutely retarded in more ways I care to count. In other areas I'm rather intelligent.

I'm significantly above average, and I've got the test scores on aptitude tests to prove it.

Now, that doesn't always help matters. Applying yourself, repeatedly, to things that are elementary for you is difficult, and if you can't do THAT people don't let you do anything more interesting.

For what it's worth, though, I have far fewer excuses to do poorly than your average bear, and I can prove it. Much to my charign.

If I had to pick one, Id say above average. But really, thats more-so in comparison with others my age (20). My friends in school referred to me as "the smart one" anyway so... yeah I'll go with above average. I dont think I'd stick with that answer if we're talking about the human race as a whole.

EDIT: Wow the results are kinda one-sided! =P But I guess it is biased if we are talking about the human race as a whole, since the only people who can answer are people who browse these forums! It would be interesting to see the results if this was carried out as a real survey that millions answered.

I once did the aptitude test for the Australian army (much like an IQ test) and my group was told: "don't stress about getting it finished on time, nobody does". If memory serves, the test ran for 30 minutes. I finished half way through and when being interviewed afterwards was told that I had "aced it" (I am however, extremely thankful that I never went through with my foolhardy desire to join the army - a clear sign that my intelligence was still in its infancy).

That was many years ago and I have since obtained my adv dip in programming and spent a lot of time educating myself (I'm currently in love with Carl Sagans books). These are just a couple of points that look good on paper but I hope it's evidence enough to justify classing myself as above average.

You know....I can't help but really respect the people that feel that they're below average...and think that, at least in some way, they're smarter than me.

Well, of the 15 or so different iq tests i've done, (some "reputable" some not quite so, some definitely not) i've fallen in all of them between 145 and 152.

The funny thing is.. i don't even know what that means because i never care enough about "IQ" to research it.

Do i feel more intelligent than most people I meet? Yes. Do i really believe that i am? No not particularly.

I think well, but articulate badly... and my social skills are terrible, yet my managerial skills at work, are great. Sooooooooo who frikkin knows?

Another note; I honestly believe IQ tests are bullshit.

Meh, I'm all right. Took an IQ test a LONG time ago that put me at above average, but not overwhelmingly so. I do honestly think that the OP should have given more options, since it seems obvious that the average Escapist viewer would put themselves in the "above average" tier.

I picked below average due to the fact that I know a little bit about a lot, and in some specific areas I have enough information stored in my brain that I can come off as a know it all (religious history, world/US history, cryptozoology, paranormal studies) and I appear to be more intelligent than those around me.

The only thing that I think I overly excel at is talking like an adult and asking questions if I don't know something.

Depends on context. In general I'm about average, but if you put me next to a group of YouTube commenters, I'm Albert ******* Einstein.

That's a lot of confidence there. I'm going with average or below which is balanced out by knowledge/schooling to make me seem smarter than I really am. I honestly don't think I can have as many blonde moments as I do and still be above average intellectually.
